UK CFC Meet up?

Central to what exactly? And have you been reading the local papers again? :nono: ;)

I'm pretty sure it has to be central to something, its just a case of finding out what. :D

@ Edward: 3 words: Under. The. Thumb. :p

@ Truronian: I won't be holding my breath as I wait for your discovery.

It was a good fun day, thanks to everyone who was there:) Was very intresting to meet some CFC'ers in the flesh!

I guess now we have to start planning one for the New Year in 2006, so that all those sickos and lame-os can make it
That's me. I'm probably unempleyed come Feb (unless anyone out there needs a microbiologist with a lousy back), and that means lots of free time!

Yo Scuffer! Please don't misinterpret my words here. I don't mean long term sick and I don't mean disabled lame. I hope that it didn't come across as such. I was simply being flippant in Feline and Stormbind's general direction.

Good luck!

Well if you had meant sick as in ill that would have excluded me for a start as I think I coughed my way through the entire time!

Apologies the rest of the piccies aren't up yet - I got caught baking a cake for my father's birthday then round at the parents with the rest of the family. I will put them up tomorrow.

Oh boy, I should really read what I write.

I will post the piccies tomorrow (on the forums, not in the post box with a second class stamp, although at the rate I'm going that may have been quicker if it wasn't for the Christmas post and considering how bad I am at posting letters and..........

Not at all, I knew exactly what you meant. And a bad back doesn't stop me driving, just anyone wanting to employ me :(

Taxi driver, Formula One driver, Bus Driver etc etc. I appreciate these don't cater to your qualifications, nor would they particularly float your boat, but the point is there are options! And you should play to your strengths!

Ah, I'll find something. Train driver sounds suitably straightforward. And would make going to any future meets a cinch.

My apologies to everyone for my rather good impression of the living dead on Saturday. Hopefully I'll be in a fit state to hold coherent conversations next time, should another meet up be organised.

 Word! Good luck on getting a new job, though. I second what Ram just said -- don't give up, and keep going! :goodjob:

Thank you to all our marvelous hosts from the UK. I had a gas, gas, gas. I used some of Noncom's arguments in Hyde Park Sunday. :D

Holly took some pictures at the last pub that I will try to post later.

Was great meeting with you and Holly, Whomp, very interesting to finally debate with some of you face-to-face!

One thing that I reflected on whilst travelling back home was that I found Whomp, Davo, Noncon and Mise much as I expected them to be - personality-wise that is. Made me realise that OT is actually not a bad forum in which to get to know people, especially when compared with different parts of CFC, where you really talk about matters that give you no idea of the person.

Looks like you all had fun, did you guys stay out late or actually act "Civilized"?
