it has been almost a week since the debut of the uncensored Howard Stern show on Sirius. I have been listening to Howard since 1992 and had noticed a serious decline in the humor content of the show, particularly in the last two years. Listening to the new show on Sirius, I think that the show has returned to being cutting edge--albeit (and favorably) without being as risque as was feared. What do you think? Is the new Howard superior to terrestrial Howard, the same, or inferior?

No, but why ask that here?

@ Thread.

Obv. i havnt heard this guy being in the UK. But i remeber when Chris Moyles moved to prime-time we worried things would have to lose the more risque stuff.

It turned out it is very hard to tell from the first week. Obv. they want the show to be a hit so pull out all the stops to make it popular. keep watching/listening for a few more weeks before you'll really know.

You're probably right. Stern has accounted for 3.3 million subscribbers to pay radio, so he would seem to be secure. Anyway, love your Brown Ale.

Beacuse Condor Junior was one year old in 1992 ;).

On topic, I doubt that there is any difference whatsoevever in Stern's performance. Any costs incurred by FCC fines were written off as "costs of business," while Stern still made enourmous amounts of money. Any difference in content would likely be due to increased confidence from Stern, rather than the removal of regulation.
