Do/did you drink while underage?

Heh, I am a much different person than I was when I was a teenager. Arent you?

Not with this. I've always made it a matter of practice to follow the law when it comes to stuff like this. Hell, I probably reach pansy levels for never taking risks in my teenage years.

I drink if I can get my hands on it, which is rare. I don't particurlarly care for it as ethanol still tastes bitter, I thought it would be like coffee where I would get used to it.

Then again I've never gotten it in sufficient quantities to get the full effect. I might try and see if I can get my friend to score a bottle of Rum (what else for a pirate?) for me but considering she is a complete teetotaler it is unlikely.

As I haven't done any drinking yet and I turn 21 in a couple of months, I think it's safe to say I won't be partaking.

I'm rather low-key as is, and I doubt I'll drink much at all ever... but I think there will be some wine in the future eventually.

...How do you folks who claim not to drink at all underage celebrate anything without just a smidgen of alcohol?

Is there no drink at family gatherings?
Is there no celebration after exams/graduation?
No drink at friend's birthdays?

Hell I mean when I were all legally kids (instead of just mentally as today - we range from 21 - 16 nowadays) we'd all have at least a glass of wine every family occasion... you know, christmas, new year, joint holidays.... you know... whenever everyone was there...?

I'm of age, and I don't drink alcoholic beverages. I also don't actively, regularly poison myself via any other methods, either - if you're interested.

I didn't drink underage, but I do now from time to time.

The first time I got drunk I was about 17, I think (maybe still 16 but close). Nowaday, I mostly just drink for the pleasure of the taste.

I drank when 'underage' in the UK, but at the relatively restrained age of 14.

I got bladdered more than a few times.

The concept that you're old enough to join the army and kill people, but not mature enough to drink, is a fine idea for fascist mentalities, but has no place elsewhere.

Drank hardly anything in the last 20 years....:(

Didn't drink at all till my 18th. 2 years later I essentially live for the latest drinking binge.

Family would drink beer and wine and such, but I couldn't stand drinking it, so I didn't.
My friends often got liquored after exams and such, I just didn't.
Nopes.

I'm underage and I drink.

The first time I got drunk was when I was 14 with my friend in a forest. It was awesome. We bought like bottles of vodka from some guy who sold it to us without a second thought. Thank the Great Potato I live in India.

Another time was when I went to the movies with my friends, and we went insane and started mixing drinks. We mixed some of the strangest alcholic drinks together, like vodka, gin, and whiskey. It was vile. All of us threw up all over my friends car  his driver was real pissed of...

Most recently me and my friend got drunk in the downtown area of my city this summer (I'm 16 now) and I passed out on a bench somewhere.

And I also drink at parties and social situations. My favorite drink is vodka. Chilled and flavored. Mhmm....I also don't mind rum or gin. I usually mix the latter two with coke or something. Speaking of which I need to get drunk tomorrow. Its my birthday.

Anyway yeh. I'm underage I drink, I will continue to drink as well. Its fun and I enjoy it.

One thing I've discovered though is that when I get drunk, I'm an angry drunk. I tend to swear, shout at people, break things, spit, and punch people when I'm really drunk. Heh...

If you eat, drink or breath you're regularly poisoning yourself :p

You don't need alcohol to have fun. :)

True, but its virtually universal that alcohol appears at any kind of social gathering...

(Preempting "but Islam says..." alcohol is widely available across the Islamic world... course "Afghan vodka" looks, smells and tastes like diesel... but if you want it you can get it...)

I dont turn 21 for another 6 months or so. I don't drink, and my closest friends don't drink too much. However, due to the nature of my business, I spend a pretty good amount of time in bars.

I don't really need booze, I'm pretty outgoing as it is.

Not really in North America.

My dad always busts out vodka shots @ sunday family gatherings. Most people who were born here think it's strange, especially when it's easter sunday breakfast.

Alcohol at family gatherings (with kids involved) is much more common in European households.

I didn't drink underage in Australia, just through lack of opportunities to. When I was 19 and 20 and in the US I drank quite a bit, but that doesn't count as underage because American laws are silly.

Underage Drinking is legal!

You just have to follow one simple rule

Dont get caught....

This can also work with sex and drugs
