Unemployed? Don't bother applying.

I hear you Euro-commies have lower unemployment and higher economic growth in Germany than in the United States, do you want to marry me so I can get a job o'er there?

I've heard Germany's success rises from the fact they didn't move production away once everyone unionized, ensuring higher quality of both their products and their living.

Honestly, I have no idea. I am super-enraged at the Right and mega-enraged at the Left at this point. Whoever can spin the discontent the best, which I guess will be the Right, but I have been wrong before.

I assume you mean the mainstream left and right? Hopefully the third parties make some sort of mark. I'd personally like to see both parties make a split.

There are lot of scumbags out there when it comes to employment. What employers really want is someone to come with the ideas, and do most of the work so that the business owner can reap the profits. They generally prefer younger workers who tend to be cheaper and more naive about how the world really works. It usually isn't discussed but there is a lot age discrimination in the software industry. I think it's why a lot of the older/wiser IT/Tech crowd tend to do a startup by age 40 rather than working for some greedy old bastard.

Another reason jobs for all should be a national priority.

We are in total agreement. I believe that we've already had a conversation about this, already.

It's getting to the point where I'm considering rioting.

When one person does it, it's not called rioting- but a temper tantrum. :D

The democrat's stimulus plan included 288 billion dollars in tax cuts that could have been spent on infrastructure projects. In all seriousness, if the recession is over and unemployment levels ain't going to drop, that's a big ol' whoops.

American politics can't do anything without a tax cut involved :p

The stimulus would have been better spent clearing away poor people's bad debts and encouraging more small business growth. The big banks and auto mfgs just had all the key players in the right place during their time of need.

If the tax cuts were aimed at job creation, it would at least be somewhat definable, even if not very efficient. Something like 80% of the tax cuts were personal tax cuts. Yes, I like paying less in taxes, but lessening the tax burden on individuals is not a job creation mechanism.

haha giving money to the poor people! And Cutlass thought getting something passed without tax cuts would be hard in America....

My god I feel so lucky for my present job and so so sorry for all the others out there. :(

me too. Though I'm not sure how much longer I'll have a job. People are starting to consider leaving my city (due to unemployment stuck around 15%). It could become the next Detroit. If that happens the place where I work could close down. Which of course would result in me being laid off.

According to some, all tax cuts aimed at the well off are inherently "aimed at job creation".

It sucks too because if your in your 40's, you should and need to be earning more money.

Stock brokers can be unemployed too!

What could he have done differently? Prevented a bubble in housing? By leaving the E.U. and preventing Brits from buying up Mediterranean property somehow?

My dad's (50s) still unemployed after nine months. :(
