*** Unit Request Thread #2 ***

Yeah, that M2 unit has some pretty modern looking cammo and gear anyways, it would work fine for all our machine gunner needs.

I think one plane that has been overlooked is the F-15 Active..

A beauty isn't she? I know the real one isn't combat ready but we can slap some AMRAAMs and Paveways on it and call it a "what if unit."

Putting it in Isreali AF or USAF aggressor colors would be a nice twist... then again, the colors NASA put on that bird nice by default.

That Does not mean that I would still like

Zodiac
Hovercraft
WWI Machine Gun
WWI Flamethrower
Modern Flamethrower
WWI Armored Infantry
Blackbird
WWII Armored Cars
WWI Recon Planes
Seaplane Carriers (WWI Aircraft Carriers)
Balloon Carriers

Alot of units are allready around. You just have to hunt for them.

Blackbird as in SR-71 Blackbird right?

I think there allready is a SR-71 Blackbird floating around here. If not, I have one that I can upload (either made by Wyrmshadow or BeBro, I forget). Wyrmshadow as a whole heck of alot of WWII and WWI armored vehicles including armored cars, just look in this thread.

WWI aircraft carriers... there may be some around here, I'm not sure. But look up specific classes of naval vessels in search and you may find what you're looking for. Balloon Carrier, I would be suprised if someone didn't make that. Again, look for specific classes of vessels.

And all else fails, download some of these nice big scenario mods like El Justo's Cold War or World 2004. They have alot of quality units that haven't been reposted individually.

Check the unit library!

I already have. All I could find of the Blackbird was a unit request thread, I could not find one where it was actually posted.

I found a Zodiac on the Unit page, but it is not very good. Armored Infantry is there, but it is not WWI style. There is a WWII Armored car, but it is Russian. I need a more generic one. There are no WWI Reconnaissance Planes (there are fighters, but in WWI fighters were bad at reconnaissance because they were too heavy). There is no WWI Machine Gun Team. There is no Hovercraft (at least not a Hovercraft Transport). There is no modern flamethrower, but there is a flamethrower. The blackbird I failed to find. There are no aircraft carrier type vehicles in the unit library before WWII. So, no Balloon Carriers and no Seaplane Carriers.

Yes I have already checked the unit library, and yes I have said this more than once.

Okay I've stood idly by for long enough and watched the blind bump into each other for too long.

SantaWyrm is coming with his bag of coal and sack of hammers to knock some sense into a few of you.

Let's go down the list.

1. Zodiac- present one is crap, will Wyrm make a new one? Signs point to no.
2. Hovercraft- I made an LCAC long ago, maybe someone will PM it to you. Otherwise you will have to wait a long time for me to do the remake.
3. WW1 machine gun.. picky picky picky. One does not exist. Make do with PTW german WW2. As a noob you should stop making such demands.
4. WW1 flame thrower, see above.
5. Modern Flamethrower- OY!
6. SR-71 Blackbird- one is in the pipeline.
7. WW2 Armored Cars-- Open a history book, then look into the downloads database. Or follow the links in my sig. I made a shiftload. Can't find one you want? TS.
8.WW1 recon planes-- Go to the downloads database. Look in Civ3 Industrial units. Click the DOWNLOADS button so it lists by order of most downloaded. Near the top is the Airco DH2 biplane. That's pretty much the best hope you have for a recon plane. BTW, recon is pretty much useless in Civ as it is only a mission for aircraft, not an actual animation of a plane flying over territory.
9.WW1 Carriers- Open up a history book. There was only 1 aircraft carrier during the course of the war and that was the converted HMS Furious. A very curious design because it had a landing deck in the back and a taking off deck over the bow. Funny thing was that in the middle, poking through the wood was the original super structure. Later on of cource it was removed and modified. Look for the HMS GLORIOUS in the database for its future incarnation. Or look for the CV Langley, or HMS Eagle or HMS Hermes or HMS Audacious... since you know how to use the search function.. atleast I assume you do as you have stated so.
10. Seaplane and Baloon carriers-- you're S.O.L. I'm not making them. I doubt anyone else is either.

Yes I ignored your PM asking for this list and the above is categorized why. Also because you are so newbish it is not your place to constantly ask for so much.

Now as I see it, here are your choices for action, and you won't like any of them.
1. Stop being such a newb. Stop flooding the request thread with your feeble demands and lack of knowledge of this forum. Be patient and some of the things you asked will come to you.
2. Completely ignore all I have written and continue on your newbish ways and no one will help you.

or

3. Whine, moan, gnash your teeth in frustration and complain to a Moderator that the Big Bad Wyrm is being a giant poopy head to little innocent Kooleo. And the Mods will say "There there. Pay no attention to the nasty man, for we will punish him".. And then no one will be happy and you will definately not get your requests.

So, if you ignore everything above I just wrote, but manage to pay attention to one thing, let it be this:
Sit down. Shut up. Be Patient.
There are poeple on this forum that have waited far longer for their requests to be fullfilled than you have been a member.

This is really a unit 'suggestion' thread. Not a Unit Demand thread.

It's been a very long time since I posted any unit request (I think it was the Montana battleship a couple of years ago, not counting the unit lotteries), but here I go again with two at the same time!

I would like a modern Army unit, with mortars or howitzers firing as Attack1 animation to support the units loaded in the army. This animation will play whenever the Army is attacking and also when the Army is bombarding. This would simulate the Army's own fire support, like Corps, Division or Brigade artillery.

I would like a fantasy Army unit, with a wizard/sorcerer/mage/druid/some other magic dude casting spells in support of the attacking units in the Army.

Yes, but if the army unit were a spell-caster, it could hurl spells while the units in the army are attacking.

It's quite a nice idea. You could always try converting one of the existing wizard-type units. It's basically a matter of applying a palette from an army unit (army units use a different sort of palette from other units) and there you go.

Wait, doesn`t an army`s attack "a" show the first unit in the army, and has nothing to do with the little guy waving his stick?
When an army attacks, both the army's attack anim AND the loaded unit's attack anim play (you know, the little guy waving the stick to urge his men on is the army's attack anim :)). When the army bombards, it's only the army's attack anim that plays.

Well just swap it with the army`s attack A animation, thats what I meant.

I've tried that. The unit ends up looking freaky and metallic and wierd and blah and....

Basically, it is messed up.

Oh! And my unit request:
Basically, a person who is constantly cloaked in flames, and shoots fireballs and stuff at people. And try not to make him look too much like the devil or some demon. Just some person who is on fire. And burns people.

Since I don't typically ask for units and neither did I bother searching but I got bored playing civ and got done watching family guy and I wondered if anyone would be making a Dancing Banana unit...maybe as a king or something useless like that.

anyways just a thought
