Unit requests thread

I've gotten a good number of civilizations added in my Rohan's Rise Mod, but I was going to add the hobbits before I uploaded it. Can anyone make any like the ones from LOTR? Some hobbits with swords and bows would be awesome.

No one wants to make hobbits? :(
 
Not many unit makers left sadly:blush: There are some but no one that really takes that many requests, havent seen someone make a succesful request in here in a while

:shake: ...And I'm not the greatest when it comes to art, so I can't do it myself either. :sad:
 
Does anyone know of what ballista models are out there? We in C2C are currently using Kathy's Ballista, but that causes animation CTDs (confimed as the cause), so we need to replace the graphics. I did a quick search and Kathy's was the only stand-alone ballista I could find.
 
Do you use the correct animations (khmeerBallista Elephant)? In my Mod, the Ballista has never crashed.

The only other Balliste I know is this Skorpion.

We've pinpointed the crash as an animation issue through the debugger and minidumps. Any ideas?
 
Hm, no idea, if you are using this .kfm... What happens, if you use the original Khmer Ballista Elephant Animations, with the original path?

Does to unit allways cause this crash, or only sometimes?

It only happens sometimes. I'll try getting the art again from the Downloads section and test with that.
 
Just started playing Civ IV again after a break. Not sure the best way to say this, and with all respect to the creators of the game, but I do find the units and some of the pictures just a bit cartoonish for my taste. I would like to find a modpack for a more realistic look. I did brouse around the forums a bit but I would appreciate anyone's thoughts or recommendations. Thanks.
 
has anyone ever made a modern/future era sentry style machine gun? basically a machine gun on a tripod autonomously defending.

this would be an upgrade to the machine gun as a siege unit.

i've searched and i can not find a mod which this type of unit.
I've attached a MG without a gunner to this post. It looks the same as the one of the MG gunner unit through, but you can always reskin it if you like. :)

I have been trying to make an Clockpunk Airship by combining a Hot Air Balloon with a Sloop ship. So it looks something like this. Can someone help combine those 2 units into something that resembles that picture.

Do you have links to the units? In the best case, they can just be combined using NifSkope. In the worst case, some Blender work is necessary. But this is only for the model, don't know if the new model will play well with the existing animation.

I am not sure which one of these would be best. Possibly top row right or 3rd row right. The triangular sails I think best match the concept drawing.

here's a screenshot of my testing.

i decreased the size and set the unit display count to 1. the sounds are set as well, i just need to do the text and attach it to a tech.

I will most certainly upload the unit as part of my "basic expanded" mod.

How difficult is it to skin a variant? I was thinking of something more chrome looking for an "advanced" (upgrade) version.
