Hey Am! :p

I've got the He-219 on my list after one airplane almost complete and your UI which is pretty much complete as well, so hold your horses!

Hello, I´m searching for someone who is able to create a german Spz Marder as a replacement for the Mech Infantry.

with an optional MILAN (guided ground to ground Missile)

Also I´m searching for a replacement for the normal Marine. I know there´s already an unit called Modern Infantry Germany in the Modern Warfare Mod. But first thing ist, that they wear a rubycoloured beret, which means they belong to a paratrooper regiment. And this is only one little part of the german army. I think, a helmet would be more convenient in combat http://www.afcea.org/signal/articles...bundeswehr.jpg

A replacement for the normal Cobra helicopter would be great too. The Tiger Helicopter would be very good. It`s designed as an Anti-Tank and Infantry Helicopter. If possible as a german Version.

What woul be good would be one of those graphics the nine figures for a modern infantry type. Replace two of the riflemen with a mortar team, another with an AT trooper and another with a SAM infantryman. This would be a much better representation of the modern infantry battalion/brigade/regiment with the usual attachments. Lets face unless we are talking about the huge russian SP mortars you are not going to see a battalion of mortars or shoulder fired SAMs or ATGWs. These things exsist as attachments to infantry units. Same goes for snipers.

i think a sniper unit would be nice... two units (spotter and shooter), can only attack, strength of 15, invisible to all units unless attacking

Pretty certain someone has already done it. How you would use it I have no idea given that the standard Civ4 unit is brigade/division level. Can't say I've ever heard of a sniper division.

Dan

its not about how the game works, its about the role the unit plays.
Snipers do not serve in a brigade. nor are they attachments. they operate individually in nearly all cases, or attached to a squad. a platoon maybe...

but then again, Spies are in the game, i've never heard of a spy brigade either.

Ah but spies can't engage in combat.

true. but still.
if i come off as a biggot, i apologize.
the rank-file structure of the military doesn't account for small ops and special ops numbers. a squad is 9-12, and maybe 13 if a higher ranking officer requests it (only happened once in American Military History that i can recall... Landing Zone X, my great uncle was there). and most times, special ops missions have no more than 5 on their team. usually 3 or 4. and special ops snipers only operate in 2's.

the role it plays would be one of great tactical importance. strike missions.
which brings to mind another possible unit... Special Forces. basically an invisible seal/marine

emphasis added.

The important word here is tactical. It doesn't apply. Civ is a strategic level game. War is fought at the division/corps/army level. The creators understand this, hence reason we only have infantry/marine/mech inf/armour/artillery units. These exists as divsional units and are used together to form combined arms corps/armies. The only possible aberation would be the SAM units. I'd probably have given normal ground units a small chance of intercept represent battlefield AD and some sort of fixed construction to represent nation level IADS. Still everything is a compromise and the civ creators seem to have doen a pretty good job.

Sorry guys, this is a request thread. Does your discussion really belong to here?

strategies change when the tactical situation changes.
however, i will accept defeat and move on.
