Unit requests thread

Let me guess the problem: two lances placed on the exact same spot, with only one being connected to the knight. That means, while one lance will be there with the knight, the other one will be there in game not moving at all

That's the problem indeed.

Are you using the right animation ?

I'm very sure I do.

I still have the extra lance. I downloaded it again, and it didn't work. :(
That is quite strange, I see only one lance. I am using these artfile entries:
Code:
<NIF>Art/Units/Condottieri/HeavyCavalry.nif</NIF>
<KFM>Art/Units/Charlemagne_HeavyCavalry/HeavyCavalry.kfm</KFM>
<SHADERNIF>Art/Units/Condottieri/HeavyCavalry.nif</SHADERNIF>
I've also attached a modified nif that should display only one lance in any case. The dying animation will look a bit strange thou, because the second lance is used for it.

Now I see the problem. I used the wrong <KFM>. :wallbash: (It isn't my fault, it's the same entry as the download)

See this Ibutho? I would be glad if anyone could give him the weapon and animation of this Immortal here.

That's currently all I need on the unit-front for a while :)
Here you are, hope you like it. :)

Can I request unit for a Centuar Knight? I could use it for my Narnia Mod. If there already is one, can someone redirect me? Thanks in advance

Thank you

Over at Cavemen 2 Cosmos we're wild mass guessing about stuff to do for alternate history stuff. It's definitely not final but I think we could use:

A copper plated da Vinci style tank
http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/~kuijt/dba169x/tank2.jpg
A canvas da Vinci style glider

deer knight, deer cuirassier and deer cavalry"

zebra archer, curiassier and cavalry

bear archer, armored bear rider, bear curasser, and cavalry

giraffe spearmen, armored giraffes, giraffe curiassiers and cavalry

rhino archers, armored rhinos, rhino curiassiers and cavalry

bison archer, armored bison, bison curassiers and cavalry

also mammoth models with ballista, cannon and gun emplacement.

We already have deer riders and archers, zebra knights and chariots, mammoth riders and war mammoths, rhino riders, giraffe archers, bear riders, and bison riders.

If such stuff already exists that would be great too.

I have always thought it odd that a Privateer suddenly reports to the authorities and takes on a new job as a Destroyer...

Actually, that's quite reasonable. Privateers were licensed by the state to attack enemies of that state in time of war. The real problem is that the privateer unit acts more like a pirate (that pays taxes on his plunder). And even then, some pirates did "go straight" and become either proper privateers, or even join the navy - particularly if they had been attacking people that the state would have been happy to go to war with anyway (see Sir Frances Drake for example).

What the game really needs, IMO, is some sort of civic or other mechanism that allows you to get (more) gold from attacking enemies and pillaging improvements, and more "black ops" units like the privateers, pirates, terrorists, mercenaries, etc that allow you to attack people without declaring war (but perhaps taking a rep hit to discourage abuse, and to represent the fact that your victims may suspect your involvement even if they can't prove it).

deer knight, deer cuirassier and deer cavalry"

zebra archer, curiassier and cavalryThe Zimbabwe civ has Zebras for these three

bear archer, armored bear rider, bear curasser, and cavalryOK, if these units are made, I'd probably make a for-fun civ to use these.

giraffe spearmen, armored giraffes, giraffe curiassiers and cavalry

rhino archers, armored rhinos, rhino curiassiers and cavalryThere's a Dwarven Hornguard in FfH that has an armored guy on a Rhino.

bison archer, armored bison, bison curassiers and cavalryFfH has a Doviello War Bison as well.

also mammoth models with ballista, cannon and gun emplacement.

We already have deer riders and archers, zebra knights and chariots, mammoth riders and war mammoths, rhino riders, giraffe archers, bear riders, and bison riders.

If such stuff already exists that would be great too.

My thoughts.

Edit: I made a pair of Mammoth units.

Can I request that you do a Cadian Shock Trooper unit from Warhammer 4000?

Here's a reference image:

I would like the head to be based off the standard Infantry, but the body is based off the Next War Cyborg. To be specific, the carapace is dark green, while the fabric is khaki. Thank you in advance.

A couple of units I'd like for a Sci-Fi mod I'm (very slowly) creating:

1) A medium-armoured futuristic soldier. Something comparable to a Star Wars Clonetrooper/Stormtrooper, or a WH40k Kasrkin, or a Mass Effect heavy armour. I.e. a soldier wearing full (or nearly full) armour, but not massively bulked-up power armour like an Imperial Spess Mehren.

2) A futuristic version of the Machinegunner (like a WH40 Heavy Weapon Team).

Hi folks. I was looking, though admittedly not very hard, for a simple, two-masted schooner. I didn't see a schooner in the database, though that doesn't mean there isn't one lurking around. Your help is appreciated, and a picture is below.

You can change the units from three to one or twelveor whatever in the unit xml... I can do that.

I am working on a mod that can be found here. I need a Spetsnaz soldier (single soldier, not a formation of 3 like the normal units) with an SVD. I'm using Zerzer's Spetsnaz soldier for this, so that would be best for the template.

Also, a special forces unit that looks like this or anything similar.

If you want your unit to have only one soldier to show up, go to here in the unitsinfo section:
<UnitMeshGroups>
<iGroupSize>1</iGroupSize>
<fMaxSpeed>1.75</fMaxSpeed>
<fPadTime>1</fPadTime>
<iMeleeWaveSize>3</iMeleeWaveSize>
<iRangedWaveSize>0</iRangedWaveSize>
<UnitMeshGroup>
<iRequired>1</iRequired>
<EarlyArtDefineTag>ART_DEF_UNIT_MARINE</EarlyArtDefineTag>
</UnitMeshGroup>
</UnitMeshGroups>

that what is should look like (obvoiusly with a different art tag)
The group size is the total amount of units, and the irequired is how much of each art is in there, so for example if you did
<UnitMeshGroups>
<iGroupSize>2</iGroupSize>
<fMaxSpeed>1.75</fMaxSpeed>
<fPadTime>1</fPadTime>
<iMeleeWaveSize>3</iMeleeWaveSize>
<iRangedWaveSize>0</iRangedWaveSize>
<UnitMeshGroup>
<iRequired>1</iRequired>
<EarlyArtDefineTag>ART_DEF_UNIT_MARINE</EarlyArtDefineTag>
</UnitMeshGroup><UnitMeshGroup>
<iRequired>1</iRequired>
<EarlyArtDefineTag>ART_DEF_UNIT_INFANTRY</EarlyArtDefineTag>
</UnitMeshGroup>
</UnitMeshGroups>
your unit will use one marine and one infantry
