Unit requests thread

I need badly the Cuirassier ( from BTS ) to be exportable .....

After many tries, I know the feathers are a problem to import/export in nifskope. But After others many tries, the fact it is a cuirassier ( a mounted unit ) is a problem too.

Of course, I tried in Blender to delete the not-needed stuff ( horse, musket + vertex of the feathers and the belt ) but it seems the spine of the cuirassier is coupled with the spine of the horse ...

So, I finished to loose myself and to do nothing good.

Can someone help me and/or explain to me how 2 ? My target is to get it for foot units ... and quite easily exportable.

Thanks in advance ! :)

I think after removing the feather and belt vertex (as you did) the Blender export of the cuirassier should be usable for a nifswap. The bone structur of the horse is of no further importance. While the cuirassier skeleton is linked to it, the cuirassier mesh isn't. During the nifswap you put the mesh onto the new skeleton (of a foot soldier in your example), thus the original skeleton is of no interest.

I know this is slightly off-topic but what program do you guys use for this? I could probably teach myself how to do the basics, but what program?

Going to try again now. But could you define nifswap please ? Thank you SaibotLieh !

nifskope is the most important, what you use for modeling can differ depending on what you use, alot of people use blender and its very useful but nifskope definatly is necessary although you cant really model it that much, just google nifskope and it will show up for a dl for your type of computer. Also you obviously need something to convert dds, also several different choices, alot of ppl use dds converter 2.1 but i dont like it as i find alot of problems with it, i forgot what i use since my computer got a virus and i cant find what i used ):
so if any1 has any suggestions for a good dds converter beside dds converter 2.1 thanks!

Really? But there's nothing quinque about both of these remes. I mean, this is a request thread, and if someone feels in the mood to do a real quink…

They have 2 towers as opposed to none. Sure I'd like to see a completely redesigned Quinqereme, but I'll take this one until a better graphic comes along.

I was wondering if any one could help me make some Gundam Wing units for CIV 4 ROM:A new dawn.

Thanks for your feedback!

Seconding I am, I'd like a flavour Assault Mech for Japan. Fictionalization has a rudimentary Gundam model, but the whole thing is teamcoloured.

well in ROM A new dawn, there already are mech units, its just that id like to change them to the above mentioned units.

And the most powerful one, should be a Gundam per flavour type.

I have a request for a Renaissance-era Celtic cavalry unit. I thought that an ideal example would be the Scottish Border Reiver.

From wikipedia:
Border Reivers were raiders along the Anglo–Scottish border from the late 13th century to the beginning of the 17th century. Their ranks consisted of both Scottish and English families, and they raided the entire border country without regard to their victims' nationality. Their heyday was perhaps in the last hundred years of their existence, during the time of the Stuart Kings in Scotland and the Tudor Dynasty in England.

*snip

The reivers were both English and Scottish and raided both sides of the border impartially, so long as the people they raided had no powerful protectors and no connection to their own kin. Their activities, although usually within a day's ride of the Border, extended both north and south of their main haunts. English raiders were reported to have hit the outskirts of Edinburgh, and Scottish raids were known as far south as Yorkshire. The main raiding season ran through the early winter months, when the nights were longest and the cattle and horses fat from having spent the summer grazing. The numbers involved in a raid might range from a few dozen, to organised campaigns involving up to three thousand riders.

When raiding, or riding, as it was termed, the Reivers rode light on hardy nags or ponies renowned for the ability to pick their way over the boggy moss lands (see: Galloway pony, Hobelar). The original dress of a shepherd's plaid was later replaced by light armour such as Brigandines or jacks of plaite (a type of sleeveless doublet into which small plates of steel were stitched), and a metal helmet such as a burgonet or morion; hence their nickname of the steel bonnets. They were armed with a lance and small shield, and sometimes also with a longbow, or a light crossbow known as a "latch", or later on in their history with one or more pistols. They invariably also carried a sword and dirk.

As soldiers, the Border Reivers were considered among the finest light cavalry in all of Europe. After meeting one Reiver (the Bold Buccleugh), Queen Elizabeth I is quoted as having said that "with ten thousand such men, James (VI) could shake any throne in Europe." Reivers served as mercenaries, or were forced to serve in English and Scots armies in the Low Countries and in Ireland. Such service was often handed down as a penalty in lieu of that of death upon their families.

Some pictures:

Some features to note:

Metal breast plate
Cloak
Finned helmet
No horse armour
Armed with lance and small shield.

Any takers?

I am sure, there already is a suitable model, that was not seen by me.
Today I checked the download database, and now I wonder, if there is an anti-air-tank somewere. Is it? the thing is, that the model I use now is a normal tank. For me it is not important, but one user of my mod did not like it.
For me it is important, that it is realy an anti-air-artillery-tank, not a SAM-tank. Could anyone help me?

And, by the way (especially to Saibothlieh): I am looking for a female peacekeaper unit (blue helmet), would you be interested in doing it? If not, never mind.

There is an anti-aircraft gun, didnt know there was such thing as an anti-aircraft tank, or atleast there was a difference between that and a SAM tank
