Unit requests thread

So how do I do that? In NifSkope?

Yessir, as per this post. The link in my previous post has them fixed though.

EDIT: I accidentally left a feather artifact in the warrior unit. Its attached to the head bone and can be removed with no issues. Its there because the first thing I tried was moving the unit onto a different file to see if that was perhaps the problem.

So I do that in NifSkope prior to editing it in Blender or I do it in NifSkope after editing it in Blender?

After, Blender makes them when you export.

I believe there's an export option in Blender to not create NiSkinPartitions, but its been a while since I've worked with it.

Here it is, there is a red arrow pointing to it.

Okay, ill try to give this a shot next time I make units. I am actually working on an Inuit maceman and I am pretty far into it now and would be really upset if I did all that work for nothing because he looks really cool. I can show you the model when I get home. But I wanted to clarify here. So say I finish the model, I export the nif file then remove the skinpartition then nifswap? And it should be fine or do I have to go back and recreate the entire unit?

It should be fine. It could also be done after the nifswap.

Alternatively, uncheck the option to export them as in topsecret's picture above.

As long as the unit does not use shaders that should work. Otherwise you will need a NiSkinPartition in your NiSkinInstance.

I can't figure out how to get this unit to be as awesome as possible. What I would like to do is create a dogsled UU for the Inuit civilization. Here are the models I currently have ready for it:

Ultimately what I would like to do is have the sled drawn by two dogs, one in front of the other. I want one of the Inuit models to be driving the sled, while the other either wields a spear or bow and arrow. This may require new animations, something I am incapable of doing. Would anybody like to help me with this?

I think it would be a valuable addition to the entire community.

Volunteers?

EDIT: I could provide the dogs too, I was just thinking of using the wolf models, but I suppose I could modify them to look more like sled dogs.

Wouldn't a slightly edited Chariot/War Chariot be sufficient? I think its possible to reposition the animation nodes to be in the correct positions. I remember editing the Fighter so that it would have two propellers (one on each wing) to make a Pucara. Its been a while and I don't entirely remember the process but I don't think it was too difficult, just mostly trial and error to nudge them into the right places.

Well, the thing for me is that I have a great deal of things I am working on at this time, so if I could get someone to literally put these things together into a viable unit that would be a great help to me. So basically I am just asking for somebody to do this for me.

I was wondering if someone could make this unit, which would be quite cool :)

I think this will be possible for me, as there is a camel gunner unit, were I have to replace weapon and rider only. I will need some time, but I will try it.

Nobody wants to make the dogsled unit? All of the models are ready to go, I just need someone to create the animations and rigging for me. Please! I'll be your best friend! ;)

Here is my modern Camel unit. If you want another skin for the rider, every Marines Skin should do, just replace the "Marines_128.dds".

@ The Capo: I really would do your dog sledge (as it is an interesting project), but I am not skilled with animations, sorry. I would apreciate if anyone other could do it, I think I would use it in my mod, too.

I am trying to convert a Colonization unit made by Schmiddie for use in BTS. I deleted the SkinPartitions in NifSkope, which is usually all it takes. The unit did show up and work fine in BTS afterward, the only problem is how dark it appears. It was dark in Nifskope too, so I lightened it up until I was happy with it, but when I try it in game it still appears dark. Any one know what I am doing wrong?
