Unit requests thread

i got one more thing to ask - could anyone enable team coloring on this unit for me? (Wheeled version)
I know how to modify alpha-channel dts file, but the model won't display the team color - instead the section i made alpha-channel for shows up as completely transparent in game.

Or instruct me how to do it if you could. I have tried various tutorials in tutorial section - nothing works for me =(

thank you!

Is possible to convert some units form C&C3 and BF2142 to CIV 4 BTS ?

I have attempted to convert units from star wars battlefront and fallout 3 to civ 4 BTS and the main issue was the huge poly/vertice count.

I am trying to convert a Colonization unit made by Schmiddie for use in BTS. I deleted the SkinPartitions in NifSkope, which is usually all it takes. The unit did show up and work fine in BTS afterward, the only problem is how dark it appears. It was dark in Nifskope too, so I lightened it up until I was happy with it, but when I try it in game it still appears dark. Any one know what I am doing wrong?
The NiMaterialProperty of the model meshes seems to be the problem. To fix this, you can either replace in the Properties of the meshes the "Material_0.001" NiMaterialProperty of with the "Rifleman_NotSkinned" NiMaterialProperty of the Rifle mesh, or you can change the "Ambient Color", "Diffuse Color" and "Specular Color" property of the "Material_0.001" NiMaterialProperty to 1 1 1 (will be displayed as FFFFFF).

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Unit is looking great now. I'll attach it here, in case anyone else wants it.

I went ahead ahead and converted the other two units in Schmiddie's recently released set. I've sent him a PM telling him he is free to do a full release on them as BTS units, I wouldn't feel right doing so myself as all I did was slightly modify the nif files. I'll attach them here for the time being though. The musketmen use the included animations and the cannon uses the vanilla cannon ones.

Thanks for the conversion, but the artillery does not use the vanilla animation - it has ist own animation! However, the vanilla animation should work as well but would look a little bit strange.

I will not publish any units for Civ4 since I only play colonization. The Units are already published in the colonization database...

Fair enough. I tried the included animation with the cannon, and for whatever reason it didn't work properly in BTS. With a bit of tweaking they probably would, but I am not skilled with animations. I tested it with the regular cannon animations and it looked fine to me.

Thanks for making some great looking units! :goodjob:

Could anyone convert the cow ressource the bison from this pack to an animated unit? I would need movement, melee attack and dieing animations for both. Perhaps this type of unit already exists?

This request is no longer valid, I found that PAE includes both bison and cow unit.

i have tried it today, but with nifscope only I could not do it, someone skilled with blender would be needed:
Could anyone create a varity of this unit without the sidecar and the second soldier, with the driver firing a pistol?

Has anybody come across unit art, which uses a dragon motif? We want to make an ancient draco vexillum carrier, that was used by many eastern ancient civs. The only dragon motifs, I've found so far, are the dragon heads of Viking ships and Chamaedrys' Korean Kobukson.

I would like to second this request!

Dear graphic designers, could someone create a dog tracted machine-gun:

Chiens-Mitrailleursbelges2.jpg

ideally i need it with the uniform of the industrial dutch machinegunner found here
There is already a wheeled machine gun here so mixing them and adding a dog should be possible for someone more talented in this field, even if I fear that the animation might cause some troubles.

Continue your amazing works ;)
