United 93: Will you see it?

I don't think going to the movies is "fun."

I don't expect this one to be any exception.

So, no.

What you got to do is find the movie theatre with the greasiest artificialest nastiest popcorn in the world, then movies are awesome!

I intend to see it eventually. At the moment though, I don't think that I'm in exactly the "right frame of mind" to perhaps appreciate what by all accounts is a very difficult movie to watch.

No self-respecting Movie goer would judge a 2 hour movie on a 30 second trailer because the trailer is made by the corperate distributers of the film and not the actual movie makers.

Well I'm not a self-respecting movie goer, so i judge by the trailer.

But that's essentially all we can use to judge whether we will want to see the movie or not.
I mean if a movie trailer is really good in my opinion, or catches my attention, or whatever, then I will want to see that movie. And then when I actually see the movie it might turn out to be disappointing (Scary Movie 3, I haven't seen 4 yet), or it might be as good as I thought the trailer presented it.
One of the points of a movie trailer is to get the people's attention and give them a crash-course in what the movie is about, before actually seeing the complete product. If we can't use that, what can we use? Remember the title of the thread is "United 93: Will you see it?", not "Did you see it?". It blatantly states that it's a thread of people talking about why they will or won't see it, and one of the criteria for making that decision is the trailer.

I'm not talking about Rhymes' choice to see the movie based on the trailer. I'm talking about him calling it patriotic American garbage with out even seeing the movie.

Add to my list of reasons not to see it: Overrated. I can't stand this tripe. Checking the scores of other movies on this site U93 scored higher than anything else put out this year. According to film critics this is the best movie of the year so far period. No movie could earn such high ratings, I call shenanigans. It's clearly benefiting from inflated reviews due to its subject matter.
