^^^ Not very impressive. Pretty ugly in fact. The big red tongue is "interesting".

This is Coventry sports and leisure centre. The really unusual bit is that the building on the left is an iconic post war building made to look like the elephant in Conventy's coat of arms. The building on the right is a grade two listed building (they are not allowed to knock it down or change it cosmetically), the elephant building has no protection.

Ever played Valheim, ARK or any similar game that extensively features base building? This looks like something players build when they're terrible at building but want something more than a "noob box".

It's not actually architecture, but about national theme. Since my old post I didn't know how will be inner interior look look like. So, now it more themed to Tatar national tradition.

3D printer used to construct train station building in Japan

West Japan Railway (JR West) on Wednesday built a station building that consists of parts made with 3D printer technology.

The station building in Wakayama Prefecture is the world's first to be built with 3D printer technology, the company said.

The building at Hatsushima Station in the city of Arida on the Kisei Line is some 2.6 meters high, with an area of about 10 square meters. The company aims to open it in July.

The building consists of four parts, including the roof and walls, which were produced by Japanese housing maker Serendix.

The formwork was formed using mortar with a 3D printer, and reinforcing steel was put in the hollow part and concrete was filled. The building has earthquake resistance similar to that of reinforced concrete houses, JR West said.

The company undertook the construction after the end of daily train services and completed the work in about two and half hours, a considerably shorter length of time than conventional methods.

The cost for constructing the building is estimated to be half that of using reinforced concrete, the company said.

Nice work taking two (massive) cylinders and a boolean function for the difference ^^
But I still prefer Stavchurches or the Russian analogue for wooden buildings.

The Republic of Kugelmugel

The Republic of Kugelmugel (translated as ‘Spherical Hill’), is a ball-shaped house classed as a micro-nation located in Vienna, Austria.

The house was designed and built in 1971 by the Austrian artist Edwin Lipburger as part of his theory that the sphere is the perfect geometrical form for a new kind of habitation.

The house has a diameter of 7.68 m and is constructed from timber units covered with zinc sheets.

Disputes with the authorities regarding planning permits provoked Lipburger to declare that the house, as it was spherical, had its own centre point, independent from the 'geocentre'. Accordingly, in 1976 he declared the house an independent republic, free from laws and building regulations. He proceeded to elect himself President and began issuing stamps and passports.

In 1979, Lipburger was sentenced to prison for refusing to pay taxes. In 1982, the house was moved to the famous Prater amusement park in Vienna where it became a tourist attraction, even though it was enclosed behind barbed-wire fencing.

Despite having no water or electricity, Lipburger continued to inhabit the house until his death in 2015. It has the only address within the Republic – ‘Antifaschismusplatz 2’ (‘Anti-Fascism Square’ No. 2), which has a population of more than 600 non-resident citizens.

That big circle in Osaka made me think about this. Feels like this is a straight road?

That's actually a perfect circle surrounding the Disneyland Paris property. We should probably bring flat earther for a drive around there. 😀

What a missed opportunity! They should also have built two smaller circular roads joining the larger -- one to the NW, one to the NE... :mischief:
