US Jetpack: F14, F15, F16, F18

i would like to add my 2 cents to this post even though it is old. the F-15 and all the variations except the F-15E strike eagle have been retired and replaced by the F/A-22 Raptor strike fighter/ bomber filling the same role as the F/A-18 Hornet strike fighter/ bomber. the f-14 is our only air superiority as the F-15E is a long range strike fighter. The F-14 series is being discontinued though and should all be retired by the end of 2006. they are being replaced by the F/A-18e
E/F super hornet interceptor

What...lol

the F/A-22 is the coolest aircraft in the skies that I have seen in a while...besides the b-52 and the stealth bombers..

The B-52's are being used but how much I dont truely know

All those will be replaced eventually by the F/A-35 Starlancer Aerospace Fighter, the first American combat aircraft capable of operating in a vaccuum... ;)

The US isn't going to spend several billion $ on the F/A 22 just to have it in service for a year or two. The F/A 22 is serving alongside the F-35 JSF
