Link to video.
The 'dumb americans' videos were quite the rage some years ago and now a new one surfaced, sporting teens that didn't see those videos.

I'm well aware that this video might as well have been staged, so I ask you:
What was the dumbest thing you ever heard from an american teen regarding common knowledge?

Sadly I only met sufficiently educated americans in my country (germany), who had some funny different points of view but were otherwise no embarassment to their country (they were university students).

is that a university or an academy for finger painting?

My favorite was the Muslamic Ray-gun guy.

Oh wait he was British.

Straight from the mouth of an old classmate in high school:

"Italy? Is that like a state or something?"

I wonder if the Gauls used to pass around "Dumb Roman" animal skin documents back in the day when they were the jealous ones and Rome was the world power.

I don't remember the persons age, but I once had an American sincerely asked me if I lived in an igloo.

I said "yes." ;)

To be honest I wonder how much of this is singling out the outliers instead of the average.

I don't live in USA so no Americans, but the dumbest thing I've heard from a classmate was:
"Why don't we send lots of money to the poor people in Africa so they also become rich?"

So yeah...

The kids at my high school were definitely not that dumb, and the ones who were just pretended to be stupid because they thought it was cool.

Yeah I remember a pretty good share of dumb things from kids in my high school.

Q: Where was the Korean War fought?
A: Wasn't that in Vietnam?

Q: Where are Russians from?
A: Like Germany?

Q: What is the big bang theory?
A: Dinosaurs!

I'm sure they do.

I really, REALLY want to find that Jay Leno Jaywalking July 4th episode, but I can't find it. :(

One guy once asked me if we spoke Peruvian in Brazil. Honest.

But I doubt Americans are any dumber, they're just an easier target.

They probably thought those were trick questions. As we all know, people never react normally when interviewed.

When my sister was told a friend of the family was Chilean, she said 'Oh, you mean from Chilenia?'
Said sister was 16 years old.

There was one I heard on television. Someone was asking the British public basic questions to see if they get any wrong. One of the questions they asked one of the passers by was "What way do the hands on a clock move?", and after a while the person answered "Anti-clockwise".

This has everything to do with teenagers, not schools. Not knowing the vice president, etc. isn't something anyone needs to rely on a school to learn. It has everything to do with teenage culture. And you all know these people have been told about the Revolutionary War. They are just idiot teenagers more concerned with pimples and rumors than anything constructive.

Also, just look at the school. It isn't exactly an inner-city ghetto.

im guessing they were in washington state, otherwise that washington state 1 seems obscure, i actually thought it was seattle as well, but revolutionary war that is embarrassing, i guess you could argue it was a civil war, but im sure thats not what those kids were getting at
