Welcome New Members

Hello all!

I've been hearing about Civilization for years... and yesterday, thanks to Steam's discount, I decided that the right moment came :) I'm quite new to "heavy" strategic as Civilization seem to be, but I hope I can spend some time to learn the concepts and dive into the game.

Don't be too hard on me if I decide to try multiplayer :)

If you dare to bye Civ2 MGE, install it, patch it with the last patch from cfc and show up on hamachi network civ2-multi-2 (pass is 22) and try multiplayer, than I will be too hard on you because it IS the very best way how to learn to play the best possible... :goodjob:

At least I could promise you that those multiplayer games won't be boring...

Sorry, I couldn't resist... :D

Anyway, welcome... :king:

I purchased the Complete edition of Civilizations 4 that shows on the box includes four games. The game I want to play is Civilizations 4 but after installation it only starts up Colonization. I have to start the game by loading the CD and clicking on the Auto executable icon. The installation did not install short cut to launch multiple games

I just joined a few minutes ago. I'm fairly new to Civilization. I have Civliliation IV with Beyond the Sword and Warlords.:D

yes,i'm in ,having played civ for 5 years ,but always like a man new to civ
Well, the games take a long time to master, so don't be too disappointed. I've been playing Civ3 for a while and am only on Emperor.

But don't worry, you came to the right place. There's a ton of good advice on this site that you can use.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post. I came here to figure out how to install Civilization II MGE under Windows 7 x64.

hey everybody, new here. (this is also my Landgrab.net id.) i like strategy games and have been playing Civ V for a few months since i got it on Steam with the Babylon DLC. I've beaten Civ V on Emperor with Science and Culture but not with Dom. or Dipl. I'm just here to learn new strategies on this game and occasionally seek some advice.

The last Civ i played before this was Civ 2 in the 90s. I've honestly forgotten how that game was back then, but Civ 5 is really addictive and will definitely take me a LONG time to get tired of it, if ever. Other than Mongolia and Babylon, I also have the Korea and Spain DLCs but not the others. Thanks for this resource and good luck in conquering worlds!

I just downloaded Civ 5 from steam on to my new lap top and I figure out how to fit the game on the screen. The bottom 1/8th of the game is cut off. What do I do?

Hi all! I frequent the website, not so much the forums, however it has helped me from time to time. Glad to join the community.

Greetings all. I started playing Civ2 over a decade ago and naturally became convinced that it was the best game ever made. I'm currently playing vanilla Civ4 (I've never seen the expansions). I've beaten Monarch once but at the moment I'm playing a large world, epic speed Prince game with 18 civs. I'm hoping to buy Civ5 on Steam soon. Yes, I'm behind the times, but I enjoy playing and that's what matters to me.

Hello All, I was introduced to Civ II back in the day, but never had a computer capable of running the games until recently. I know, I'm always behind technologically. I did play Civ II on the Playstation, and have played some Civ III. Just got a new laptop and Civ 5 a couple weeks ago. I'm really excited to be getting back into the games.

Hi Trevor :)

And hello to ALL the new members!

Hi, I'm Adamson.

I downloaded Civ IV after seeing a guy talk about it in his blog. I thought it was something that I would want to play, and I was right :)
It was only a couple of weeks ago, but I think I'm already hooked. I will probably get Civ V soon!

This is almost embarrassing. My son gave me this site and some other materials as a Christmas present. I suppose he believed that since I taught World History in high school for many years that I would love this activity. I read some of the riddles and reactions on the home page site and felt entirely ignorant. I am a fanatic only about the NCAA Football video game. This makes me a "jock" rather than a "intellectual". I have never even played Civilization 1. That does not preclude any trial runs, but I lack confidence and enthusiasm at this moment. I am a 63 years old retired (after 38 years) public school teacher, coach and administrator. I believe I have already done my best thinking and this old dog may find it too difficult to learn new tricks. However, I am a good listener, regardless of what my wife might say!

Retiree's are always welcome- they make me feel young. Well, youngish.

We all started somewhere with this game (addiction) and if you have any queries please feel free to ask.

Some of the folks here are very professional to the degree of being able to calculate where they will gain a half point advantage and others (like myself) bumble along and enjoy winning a game sometimes.

In the end it is something to give you enjoyment.
