Welcome New Members

Hello Everyone! New to the forums here. Finally decided to join after being a guest for so long. I pretty much been just scratching the surface of CIV IV: BTS, after really enjoying the CIV : REV for the xbox 360 and Nintendo DS versions of that game. I really love the extra added detail for the CIV IV: BTS version. My favorite Map size is Huge and favorite Game Speed is Marathon. Once I can respectively win every time on Noble Difficulty I shall be giving Multiplayer a go. But first I want to achieve every type of victory condition on every Difficulty setting upto Noble.
I must say that I love more TECHs, UNITs, BUILDINGs, and IMPROVEMENTs, to play with than the CIV: REV versions. I think that my favorite unit so far has to be the basic Worker unit.

i was playing civ4 yesterday and accidently changed the view from the standard view that looks like a 3d view from the side to a topdown view that is not as enjoyable. could someone please tell me how to change it back

Press either ctrl+F or alt+F or shift+F. You most likely changed it to Satelite view.

Welcome to CFC y'all! :band:

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing Civ since the beginning but it's my first time on the forum.

This site is great, I'm glad I found it.

Hi, new to the site. Is there some reason why anytime I try to go to the technical support forum it logs me out to keep me from asking about a problem I'm having? Maybe a mod will read this and be able to help, but for now is it okay if I post the problem I'm having here? Won't know until I try I guess so here goes, and sorry if I'm not supposed to.

I just bought the 2k huge pack on steam today mainly because I saw the Civ 4 games included in it. The first thing I do of course is start downloading all the civ 4 games which take forever. Now they're downloaded... but I have a question... how in the heck do I merge them? I know all of them but colonoziation are expansion packs and it says you don't need civ 4 to play colonization, but shouldn’t there be a way to add colonization to the others? Not only that but I can't seem to merge the expansion packs together, they all seem to behave like standalone games. Maybe I just overlooked something but really I have no idea.

Maybe it was because I didn't download them in order? Seriously how do I play just Civ 4 with all the expansions to it instead of normal Civ 4, civ 4 warlords, Civ 4 beyond the sword, and Civ 4 colonoziation individually? I really wish they would have offered Civ 4 Complete like they did with Civ 3 Complete instead so I wouldn't have to go through this headache... it would have been so much simpler! Perhaps is there anyway other than buying Civ 4 complete myself to just get it credited to my steam account and if not maybe someone can help me combine them together so I can just play Civ 4 with all the content I already paid for?

Sorry for bringing my problem here to the introduction forum, I really don't have a choice but ironically this problem is the reason I joined the forum so I could ask for help concerning it so I guess in a way it fits. Thanks for any help, and nice to meet'cha all!

A. There is a Civ 4 complete
B. Colonization is a standalone game, not an expansion pack
C. Play BTS. It includes all the content from warlords.

I'm a long time Civilization fan. I've been playing since Civ 2 came out :)
I'm hoping to find someone to play Call To Power against ;)

Hi folks -
The Welcome said to make a Post - so here it is.

I'm trying to get Civ IV to work with my new Vista machine.
It ran very slow and would die a death with my old laptop, so one of my priorities in a new machine was that it could run Civ 4.

I checked this forum a few months ago and found several Vista-problem threads, but can't seem to find them now.

Any quick help for my first post?

Hey y'all. Been lurking for a few weeks now. Mostly been in the mods forum looking for new and exciting ways to expand my Civ4 experience. Got started in this genre with Alpha Centari, though I had previously been into RTS style games like AoE. I had actually never heard of the Civ series or turn-based strategy. My mother, being the wonderful lady she is :), bought me Alpha Centari as a B-day present because the guy at the game store told her it was good. Well he was right, and I played it a lot. Never actually owned a Civ game, though, until recently. Played Civ3 a bit back in the day because a friend of mine in high school had it and I spent a lot of time over at his place on the weekends. I've really liked Civ4 so far, although I'm still kinda noobish at it. I also own Spore (though I've uninstalled it because I was disappointed in its simplicity) and SimCity4 (though I've uninstalled it because my computer is old and can't normally handle more than 1 or 2 games at a time). I've also played the Total War series from the first Medieval up to present, although my computer isn't able to handle the new Empire Total War game, even though I own it. I need a new computer so bad! :( The one I currently have I bought back in '04, which it was top shelf back then, but now it's slow and dying. Poor olds grandspas consputers, can'ts keeps up with the news games.

Btw, love the mods I've dled so far, but FfH2 is quite possibly the hardest game I have ever played. I'm on only the 2nd mission on the scenarios and I've gotten creamed every time, even on Chieftain difficulty! ><
