Where will be located? How works?

I have been playing Civ IV since vanilla and right now I am on the transition from immortal to deity.

To all those who need help downloading: I don't know if you have tried the downloads tab on the bar that has the buttons: home, my account, downloads, etc. In the downloads link, click the Civ version you want (CI, CII, CIII, CIV, Col) and then the download type you want. Then you click on whatever appeals to you and click download either on the top, bottom, or upper-right-hand corner. Hope that helps for awhile.
 
I'm having problems reinstalling the game on my new computer. I can get the original Civ4 on there, but when I try to put Beyond the Sword on there, it gives me some kind of warlord error or something. Oh, and patch 1.74 doesn't work, it only wrecks everything.
 
Hi all have just joined, just got Civ 4 and aint got a clue, but looks like a good game so became member here to pick up some tips, finding it all a bit confusing at mo i am a complete beginner, might get the hang of the game one day????
 
I have been playing Civ since CIV III came out. Can't wait for CIV V.
Registered to this "fanatics" site, because I am a CIV fanatic, but I also want to get better at the game. Keeping getting pwnd on Prince level at about 500ad. I also have some Win7 compatability questions and thought I'd find some answers here.

Never played on-line... I think it is time to get pwnd again to learn some more. See you out there --->

I've been playing since Civ 1. It was the whole Steam thing that got me to sign up.

Anyway, greetings all. :)

I have no problems running it in Win7 Home Premium 64-bit.
How are you running the game, from disc or through Steam?
If through Steam and you're also running Spyware Doctor, there's a conflict between the latest Steam update and Spyware Doctor. Spyware Doctor will stop the game from running and give you no notification of it. This happened to me for a while.

The solution is to run Spyware Doctor in "game mode" or to disable it whilst playing.

I've had Civ IV stuck on my shelf for eons and only now find myself with some free time (due to a little forced time off at work) and an interest in trying my hand at an intelligent "video game". I loaded it and updated to patch V 1.74 on my Pc running under Vista 64.
It appears to be okay but I'd prefer to know that it really will be okay before getting too far into the game. Anyone care to comment/advise on that? Vista has been notorious for compatibility issues and so I'm just being cautious.
