Im not so much concerned about pay but rather a job i dont dread going to every day. Ive been working at home depot as a cashier since april and its been very dull and tiresome.

Any ideas? Preferably something not retail.

And does anyone remember me? I havent posted in awhile. ;)

AHHH XAN

WELCOME BACK

You need to rejoin fiftychat!

oh, and join the military

restaurant server!

Dung shoveler! Day labourer!
You must put yourself in terrible debt in order to have a good job!

Just kidding. You can get a lot of good jobs just by working your way up the ladder with only high school depending on what industry you work for and what entity you work for.

If you have a skill, develop it and display it on the job.

start a buisness

I would need a big load of money to do that. Not to mention owning a business is a big time sink. (Even more so then WoW)

Oh god, you're still there?

I hate myself for convincing you to go there.

Try being a plumber or car mechanic. Plumbers can earn huge amounts of money, at least in this country.
Or just go into manual labour. After a few months of heaving gravel for laying paths the girls will go wild over you.

Catch on with a company that builds houses - work your way up to superintendent. After a few years doing that, you should have enough knowledge of the industry to strike out on your own.

Dare I say it? Politics.

ZING!

Well, here's a start. It's not a perfect fit since this is just GED graduates and some may have gone on to college, but it does show you can move up even with just the GED and nothing further (though getting certificates from trade schools can always be a plus).

Though I figure a good number of them went forward to get a college degree later on, I'll bet that a good number of them still went on working their way up before they got the degrees. It's possible, not to mention other work that can be said in this thread.

NOTE: Deliberately left off the "crime connections" and "fictional characters" parts. I'd say it's pretty hard to be a fictional character unless you have sheer determination and the criminal connection thing had a mix of victims and criminals and I'd strongly discourage you from being either.

By "college", do you mean ALL post-secondary education? Because you can get some wonderful jobs with vocational, 3 year, education. You can become a tradesperson, like a carpenter or electrician.
