CFC has such a wide variety of people in it that I would say no consistent differences can be drawn.

    Yeah, I know--buzzkill. :D

You made a clever comment that Takhisis (and I too, btw) thought was funny. Takhisis' comment was meant to be a compliment. The appropriate response on your part would be "thank you" and a pleased smile.

I know you weren't fishing for compliments but you deserved it anyway.

The only consistency with forumers is that they post to forums.

These people also breath, eat and poop just like everyone else.

I don't want to bore my friends by talking about politics and science and various internet memes at them, so I come here. Although I find that most of the time someone has already said what I was going to say, usually more eloquently as well.
Still, I feel I benefit from seeing many (sometimes) well thought out points of view on things I find interesting.

When I had flexible work only a few minutes from my house and my social life I wasted time here in between doing things, stayed late and went straight on to whatever life I had. I would work on weekends just to fill in time.
Now I have to commute (40 minutes!) and do proper work, and I don't have enough time for forum discussions, so I have to rely on my weekly meetings with a few discussion-minded friends to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms. I don't work on weekends because I have so much to do and too many people to see.

So my guess is that people who have the time to post on the forums don't have pressured work and commutes.

I spent a lot of time looking at the Civ 3 section of this forum before I got this account, I definately have less of a life now.
