What are the worse bands in history?

, Billy Joel, Dave Matthews Band, .

Man. Billy Joel made one of the greatest single albums in rock (by critics standards...River of Dreams), and DMB is likely one of the only rock bands from our generation thats going to have any staying power (I think the Chili Peppers are really the only other one)...not to mention they're one of the most musicially proficient popular groups in years.

I mean, I know you don't like "bros", and DMB fans can be douches, but I don't see how you could argue that they're the worst band. Carter B is one of the top 3 drummers playing right now I think.

Billy Joel is hit or miss. I love some of his songs. But the ones I don't, god, I hate them.

Dave Matthews Band has little talent in anything. I don't even care who listens to them, they're just not that good.

Bad Religion

"I'm going for a walk" was one of the stupidist, whineyist, and worst songs EVER. In a perfect world, they would be executed for it.
I never used to agree with you. But I think we need to ay down the olive branch for this one.
Aerosmith sucks.
Amen.
If we're talking musical proficiency, I think its its Sex Pistols

Ramones too. I'm so sick of the "It's so simple and dumbed down that it's genius!" dreck that I invariably hear from people defending them. Same goes for 90% of all other punk. Be it"real" punk or commercial, it's equally pathetic to me.

Agreed. It's essentially just a 'list bands you don't like' thread, which just ends up pissing the people who do like the band(s) mentioned off.

If you get pissed off cause someone says your bands suck you're taking it too seriously. Just defend they're musical credentials! If someone said Pink Floyd sucked I'd get right up their and argue for them. Might not convince everyone btu hey, it makes me look knowledgeable.

This thread is really worhtless. How can you have a decent discussion on taste of bands?

Well we could round then up and have a cook off. But I don't think a bunch of junkies and drunks will be yummy.

Pretty simple. Argue over what some of the worse (popular) bands in history are. In order to qualify at least make sure they've released an album from a semi-major record label. No wanna-be garage bands.

Also... lets assume that Brittany Spears, Backstreet Boys, etc. are already on this list ;).

To kick the list off:

Pearl Jam
Nirvana
Alice In Chains
AC/DC
Disturbed

You know, I quite like at least 2 of those.

O-Zone definitely qualifies in my top 10! If I hear "Dragostea din tei" (the Numa song) once more, I will explode. And no, it's not a wannabe band, it had an amazing success for years! :cringe:

Sex Pistols? Nirvana? Metallica? AC/DC?!!!

What's the matter with you, people! C'mon, it can't be true!

Most of the bands here are from my favourite bands. How can you say Sex Pistols or AC/DC without even knowing 50% of their songs (I'm sure you don't)?

For me the choice is:

Tokio Hotel (DIE, GERMAN EMOCORE, DIE!)
Fall Out Boy (actually not that bad, but very overrated)
Spice Girls
'N Sync
Backstreet Boys
Children of Bodom
Cradle of Filth
My Chemical Romance
Bullet for my Vallentine
Linkin Park
Limp Bizkit
Mini Bosses (We hate them, because they said that NESkimos copy them).
Slipknot
Korn
Radiohead (again, overrated)
Soulfly
Beatles (some good songs, but McCartney makes them bad)

However, I'm glad that some bands that appear in a simillar thread in Bulgarian forum, didn't make it here.

Like:

ManOwaR
The Prodigy
RAMONES
The Chemical Brothers
Running Wild
Guns'n'Roses
Kultur Shock
Zebrahead [EDIT]
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Rage Against the Machine
Richard Cheese (don't ask please)
Rolling Stones (!)
Pink Floyd (!)
The Who (!)
Van Halen (!)
The Hives (!)

Backstreet Boys
Westlife

Pink Floyd. I despise them with a passion. The artists in the band are skilled, but the songs they wrote suck.

They are the only band that will make me turn off the radio entirely when they are playing.

I also hate the Beatles. Good players, some decent songs, but I can't overlook how disgustingly liberal John Lenin is. He took his anti-war stuff to the extreme.

I find it even more insulting that on the radio his death gets MORE attention than the attack on Pearl Harbor!!!!!!!!! An inexcusable insult to World War II veterans. :wallbash::aargh::run::trouble:

No, but I feel it sums things up well.

I like many of Metallica's songs, despite the allegations of selling out. I like almost all of Dave Matthew's stuff, despite how popular it is. I realize that there is a place in all art forms for criticism, but it is all lost on me.

f you get pissed off cause someone says your bands suck you're taking it too seriously. Just defend they're musical credentials! If someone said Pink Floyd sucked I'd get right up their and argue for them. Might not convince everyone btu hey, it makes me look knowledgeable.
Sorry, but threads where one person goes 'they suck' and another responds 'they rule' don't really appeal to me.

Sure he curses, sings songs like "Wang Dang, Sweet Poon Tang" and "Wango Tango", gets branded as a racist (though he's right in saying "They're just words") but you cannot deny his skill with the guitar.

Is that like my spoken voice autobiography?

Most music today, by which I mean whatever bands fall in the genre of My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and that crap.
And most rap today. Ok, it's got a good beat, you can dance to it, well that don't mean nothin when I'm drivin! Keep it at the club, and get it off your ipod, fool, no one wants to hear how the . .. .. .. .. .es love you and your mountains of dough on their way to work.

Probably before most people's time, but how about the Monkees? Totally studio-manufactured.
Never played on tour. One guy could sing a little. Another guy could play a bit. TV shows
endlessly rehearsed till they got it right. But entertaining even today, if your a sub-teen moron.

I only really like the unplugged album. I can do without the screaming of their studio albums (with a few exceptions... songs that aren't screaming).

The only song they have with screaming off the top of my head was the last two lines of territorial pissings.....other than that they don't scream at all....unless yelling counts?
