What are you going to do while the site is down?

Spent more time at AC2 and CBC.ca, played some games, read a book, watched a few Lawrence Krauss videos, did RL end-of-month stuff, got promoted to admin on another forum I belong to, told off a Conservative election worker who jumped the gun on phone canvassing for the coming federal election (canvassing before the writ is officially dropped is unethical and tremendously annoying anyway)...

I love sand suede and brown nubuck shoes for summer / winter. Cant wait till my new ones arrive (my current ones are too casual trainer - like shoes).

Gst. On. My. Feet!

I'm also going to want to buy more trousers / jeans, will head to Primark after my next appointment and look for something cheap.

Hmm, I picked some strawberries. Then ate said strawberries. I've also been trying to convince the police to let me purchase weaponry.

Eehehee, strawberries makes me mad!

Oh, I must now advise everyone -

If you've never exfoliated your feet, BEGIN DOING SO PRONTO!!!

Good lord, the amount of muck.

I hope you're not really doing cocaine.

I went on a course for the past week. You know how you sometimes fantasise about having the first week of university again, what you'd do differently, knowing what you know now and being the person that you are now? Well this was like that, it was like a Fresher's Week do-over. Super fun times!

So yeah I didn't really miss this place, but it's good to have it back :)

As for me I think we need to have internet holidays more often. There should be UN proclaimed "week without an internet"/internet Ramadan couple times of a year! Or may be I just need to change my life style a little....

Well, I won't say this was a "holiday from the internet." I was still online, but in other places I don't spend as much time on due to being here so much.

Internet starvation holidays would be fine, only if everything outside was free.

But it isn't, so it isn't.

For me, the first week of the closest experience I've had to university, like yours, involved a new environment, lots of new friends and very little sleep, but probably infinitely more cleaning and polishing and being shouted at. So I'm not sure I'd describe it as 'super fun'...

Incidentally, as a rough straw poll, how odd am I on CFC as somebody who has never been a university student? I know I'm certainly well below average as far as formal education level is concerned, but I didn't think I was entirely surrounded by people with degrees.

Plenty outside the internet is free, and plenty more can be got at for free or very cheaply if you're lucky enough to live somewhere that allows you to do it.

I actually checked a Facebook page - the CivFanatics one, to see what the progress was.

And I picked peaches and ate peaches and went to a festival.
