What could disprove your religious beliefs?

It would prove Judaism right. It would actually be the first coming of the Messiah... But one thing: how would we know that the person who will come will actually be the Messiah? There are thousands of presumed messiahs. What would the criteria be?

White donkey, miraculous arrival and opening of the closed gate in the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. Problems? The Muslims built a large cemetery leading to that gate - and the Messiah is a Cohen, a priest of Jewish religion, and is forbidden from stepping in cemeteries - they're unholy places.

Surprisingly to most religious types, he would probably throw a fit if he saw what people had done with his ideals and philosophies today, and all organized religions would be shown the door.

Why don't people belive that God cannot use scientifically explainable miricales?
The universe. He did make the thing and I expect he knows how to use it properly.
Just because some miricales can be explained by science doesn't mean the are not miricales indeed.
Seriously it's like people belive God didn't read the owners manual or something...

I do agree with you somewhat. Even when I was uber-religous I still believed in evolution and the big bang. It is not hard to believe that if there was a God that science is just a way of explaining how he does what he does.

If someone proved beyond a doubt that Jesus never existed.

I would still beleive in God though, I would probably become Agnostic. Don't know how you could disprove God though...

Proving or disproving the existense of Jesus is a trivial matter and besides the point. The difficult and nearly impossible thing to prove is his divinity. Aye theres the rub.

No, beause judaism considers graveyards "unpure", foul, and the messiah must be pure of mind and absolutely immaculate to open the gates of heaven and bring forth the kingdom of God. The medieval muslims caught wind, said "hey, we control the city anyway, let's make sure it stays that way even if this messiah fellow shows up", and built a large cemetery.
