What do you think your ancestors did for fun?

On my mother's side - administered the (they were royals), read books, watched dramas, the usual stuff people of high culture do for fun. Here is the wiki link of the territory they administered (my grandfather was a "Pantasachiv", as referred to in the wiki article). I know they wrote books, because we still have preserved books written describing the family's fortunes, their ascent to power, and the biographies of the rulers and descriptions of their periods of rule.

On my father's side - again, stuff which cultured people did for fun (read and write books, theatre, classical music, et cetera). They were jagirdars.

We weren't really ever "peasants" at any time, and my ancestors were of the priestly caste, so debauchery (like the massive heavy drinking many people here have mentioned) was right out of the question.

They rolled boulders on Roman caravans. Before that they did it to the Carthaginians. For awhile they did it to the Moors too. Then my ancestors went to the New World, and the natives rolled boulders on them...

I doubt they had much time for fun as they were all working class. My Great great grandfather was a coal miner from the age of about 11 or 12.

They must of been to a place of worship.

Why? In civiliazation games temples give happiness. Video games never lie! :mischief:

Are you fully blooded Cuban (Spanish, you know what I mean)?

On my fathers side probably raided some Norman villages. On my mothers side probably smoking opium somewhere in south China.

No, part of his French heritage surrendered to make up the difference.

Boo! *Throws various types of rotten fruit*

I have ancestors from a lot of different places, but most males probably drank.

I've done my family history back several generations and so far I've only found 2 ancestors born outside England - both in Ireland in 1801 and 1812, both GGGG Grandfathers.

It's a very good hobby for those who haven't done it.

Raided and pillaged scandinavia forever.

Spaniards...uh...

They were systematically raping and murdering funny Aztecs and Incans. Wait, didn't the Incans get massacred by the Portuguese** Who knows. I don't care for obscure Meso-American civilizations.

**That's sad. I thought of the Brazilians instead of Portuguese. Shows how much they've lacked to do anything in a long time.
