I don't agree. A very intelligent person might have stumbled into this thread and started posting in it with the best of intentions.
Have any done so?
Hmm. I'm not so sure about that.
That's a bit like saying everyone is an Olympic athlete in their own way. I suppose they might be. But only in a special sense of "in their own way".
I'm inclined to think that adding "in their own way" sucks all the meaning out of whatever statement precedes it.
Which isn't to say I decry the sentiment. I just don't think it tells us much about what intelligence might be. Or might not be.

Yes, everyone has muscles, and can do things with those muscles. Everyone is their own athlete and can do their own things.
Same with the brain and intelligence. I reject the idea of hierarchical ranking of intelligence, or the ability to accurately measure one's intelligence against another. And since we have more or less the same brain across all humans, I believe that everyone is just as intelligent, and holds the same abilities as anyone else. People get good at certain things (taking tests, math, what have you) through practice, not innate intelligence. They just utilized their brain for a specific thing and got good at it. Everyone is capable of that, outside of those who are handicapped due to disease and what not.
Yeah, but as you know, some people will run 100metres in a record speed, some in a more average speed, some in rather notably slow speed, and some will collapse if they try to run.
No, they'd have better things to do.I don't agree. A very intelligent person might have stumbled into this thread and started posting in it with the best of intentions.
That's due to difference in practice. Just because there are those who run at an average speed, does not mean they aren't capable of eventually running 100 meters in records speed should they train enough.
No, they'd have better things to do.
