What is the most painful thing you have ever experienced?

Being ran over by a vehicle as a 7 year-old.

Was not really the pain, but I recall the fear on the driver's face as he looked down on me along side my mother...

I woke up in hospital with a permanent scar on my head and a roaster of a broken leg.

(the driver was subsequently liquidated)

In the middle of a Tae kwon do fight, I did a roundhouse kick and hit my opponent on the elbow. I broke the bone in the lower part of my leg, whatever its called. Laid on the floor paralysed by pain for a good five minutes. No training for six months after that.

I broke both my legs falling down once, but that was nothing compared to this.
i think you mean the shin. are you allowed to block roundhouse kicks with your elbows in tae kwon do?

Not really, but it was not intentional. On the other hand, it was very effective.

Getting jumped by 3 people, after some good fighting on my part i got my head slammed against the floor and then got kicked in the face. I believe that was painful although i don't remember anything for about 5 minutes after that

Are you in some way implying that my bones are fragile? ;)

That time one of my friends fell onto my badly infected ingrown toenail. The subsequent blood and pus ruined my sock too. It was very disgusting.

Well thank you very much for sharing that with us. I think you just ruined my apetite. ;)

Hmm, a dislocated knee during a soccer match. Well...that's the official explanation, and that's what the medical papers say, but truth is that I got stuck in some mud and lost my balance, twisted my leg around, and whoopie...a nice dislocated kneecap. :vomit:

Just three words: Hurt like hell. :(

Ouch, yeah i dislocated my right knee 4 days before the Southwest Regional Tournament for AAU Baseball, this happened this past august, i was taking batting practice and my cleates stuck in the dirt and when i swung, it popped out of place but luckily it went back in by itself, by my coach said my knee cap was all the way on the side of my leg :/ I was ready to play in the Tournament but coach wouldn't let me, and we ended up losing both games because of the guy who replaced me in Right Field screwed up losing both games! *PISSED*
Also i've torn the ligaments in my left ankel 3 times and in the right 5 times now, back in october threw december i tore them twice within 2 months so now i have to wear a stiff ass brace when doing my sports activities

No broken bones, but that thing hurt...

How did you manage not breaking any bones!!!

I haven't yet broken anything despite doing some dangerous sports. Like skateboarding, ski-ing, rock climbing, snow boarding etc. etc.. I've surprised myself by falling of my skateboard countless times and yet never managing to break anything, I guess by bones are made of steel!

p.s. I hope I haven't hexed myself!!!

You're screwed, redtom!

Trying to walk after an appendix operation was quite painful.

Last year, I seriously twisted my ankle muscles. Had to immobilize my leg for over a month, and it did hurt badly. I was playing basketball and when I was up for an easy score, an idiotic adversary without any chance of stopping me pushed me in middle air. I really wasn’t expecting that, so I fell badly and my foot didn't have a chance against the weight and angle; it turned 90 degrees inside and my ankle actually touched the ground. Ouch, it hurts even to remember.

I also broke my wrist when I was a kid... but I suppose that it wasn’t ALL that painful, it was much more the scare and that I was too little.

But what really takes my sleep at night is the time I slept in a bad position and twisted a muscle in the neck; I was immobilized by pain. Couldn't even look around, any movement made me screen in panic. I actually had to immobilize my neck in the hospital (and please, don't make me remember the journey to GET there) and resort to painkillers for 2 weeks.

I haven't had many painful experinces... yet.

How'd you get going that fast anyways? Going down a hill?

Yes, going down a stupidly steep hill. I also done a similar thing recently on a all-terrain board, I cut my arm, and blood gushed out of it!

The worst was when I had boiling water poured on my foot, it caused large 3rd degree burns. I work in a kitchen, everything that surrounds me is either sharp or hot. Pain is a constant part of my work life but I kinda like it. Does this make me sick?

YOWCH!

3 incidents come to mind...all football (American rules) related

Torn ACL/MCL - before arthroscopic surgery - I think the rehab was worse than the actual injury

Dislocated elbow

Dislocated Hip - Pain still there especially during wet weather...

That just reminded me of my hamster dying. But to make it worse it was my fault. I thought it would be nice to take her outside to play at night in the middle of winter and see the Christmas lights. I froze my hamster. :(

Zip forward a decade and I boiled my fish (kinda). Though that was not really my fault. the aquarium heater broke in the on position. The water was 90 degrees when I found out. About 80% of my fish were dead.
