First introduced to Civ I by my flatmates in early 1998 (I still remember the day when they turned up at the house, back from visiting their families at Christmas, announced, 'We've got Civ', as if I was supposed to know what they were talking about, proceeded to load it on *my* computer, and sat me in front of the computer to show me what it was about). I think I spent 1 day wondering what the point of it was and - ummm - bought Civ II a month later and spent the next 8 years progressing through the different Civ versions.

in the spring of 1994 I found civilization and my addictive personality.
after two years of using school computers and any friend that would let me sit in thier house for 5 hours plus I got a decent machine and went to buy civ and found civ2 and alas the addiction continued right through the second game only to be reborn with civ 3 and now yet again civ 4.... hopefully while owning this game I can keep my job, house and wife.
