Given the most serene amounts of evidence, which includes the most serene alphabetical achievement list, the most serene indications that Venice as a Venetian city-state has been replaced by Riga, the most serene colors of the unknown civ being taken from the most serene Wikipedia page for the Most Serene Venetian Republic of Venice, and the most serene hint from the most serene previewer that states that the unknown (but undoubtedly serene) "bombshell" civ is most serene indeed, I believe we can at this point assume the Most Serene Venetian Republic of Venice is included in the game in the most serene fashion possible.

I gave him the pieces of evidence, but I guess he ignored it too, oh well.

There is no other European civ that has the amount of evidence that Venice has. Venice is the European civ, there are frankly no other plausible alternatives (though there are a few very unlikely ones).

Venice is in; check the various threads about evidence for it. Again, I would have preferred Italy, but you're dealt with the cards you're given.

I think in an ideal world, where there are no "Civ caps" and the game is supported for a long, long time, both Venice and Renaissance/modern Italy would have made it in.

Though so would a LOT of other Civs people want.

Makes me sad there are "Civ caps" :(

Ok so we will just have to wait and see who was right ;)

It'll be moderately amusing if it is in (as is highly probably these days, given the wealth of evidence and that PC Gamer preview comment) and you're wrong... :p

It will be very amusing when it won't and you're all wrong ;)

Is this the thread where we share our PayPal details with OsmarChito? I could really use that $30 to put towards the upcoming expansion.

But as my answer to the OP - I'm really not too thrilled about Venice, however I am confident that it's UA will justify it's inclusion. Other civs that fall into this boat are most certainly Brazil and Poland. I was however very naive earlier on believing that Australia could get in as a Germany-Russia-Japan-esque civ (i.e a civ that covers the general geographic area and is representative of multiple centuries). So in that regard I chose the second option of "Good choice, but I would have preferred another civ".

hahaha dance puppets dance! hahaha.....like I said we will all see at the end who wins ;) TPangolin yep if you wanna bet bet....30 dollars or a steam gift of the new expansion ;)
