The only non-American news I use is Deutsche Welle.

The only one with news value and some credibility is Al Jazeera. Good to see a different channel, right or wrong.

I've been toying with nicknames for that ilk... maybe "Cowboys"... "Hacksaw Jim Duggans" is ideal, but too long, and I cant be arsed explaining HJDs over and over... I think the board is split into two groups who percieve eachother to be the good guy and the bad guy in Die Hard, respectively

I don't use any...and I rarely use news sources outside of America. I'm primarily concerned with news developments in my country, and there isn't any American political story that an Asian (or even European) news source is likely to cover better than an American news outlet with a solid Washington department.

I sometimes use the BBC and Globo, but other than that, its only American for me.

Inter Press Service is "western" but covers a lot that usually gets dropped or buried quickly by other agencies.

As for non-western media in english, you can try also the Asia Times, somewhat connected to China.

I occasionally US the BBC and a couple of other British sites, but those would presumably count as Western. I don't use any actually non-Western news sources for actually learning about the news, although I do read some for amusement. Recently I've become aware of Korean News website, which is the official news website of the DPRK. It's pure comedy gold.

U.S. Moves for Nuclear War under Fire

Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- The Arab Solidarity Committee to Support the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and the South Korean People's Struggle issued a statement on January 31, 50 years after the U.S. deployment of nuclear weapons in south Korea.
The statement accused the U.S. of not only introducing at least 1,000 nuclear weapons and other huge armed forces for aggression into south Korea but also getting frantic in their moves for war against the DPRK and its neighboring countries, oblivious of the bitter lesson drawn from the past Korean war.
The U.S. can never defeat the Korean people as they are all out to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the nation in a do-or-die spirit, true to the outstanding Songun politics of Kim Jong Il, the statement declared, stressing that the U.S. reckless moves for a nuclear war are bound to go bust.

Oh great fun. The rather horrific website design is nearly as hilarious as the actual content. I've seen pokemon fan sites much better designed than that.

I don't have any set sources that I read regularly, but there are a number of English-language versions of papers that I've read, depending on what I've found interesting.

Well I gave Al-Jazeera a try a few years ago.

First article on the first page that I read was full of lies. Theyre like an arab version of Fox News, so I never went back.

I want new not propaganda.

Anybody ever used to listen to Radio Tirana? Closed down in the late 80's
after fall of Communism in Albania. Used to have the strongest transmitter
in Europe which it used to block out Radio Free Europe and American Armed
Forces Radio in West Germany.
Day and night they'd pump out the thoughts of Chairman Mao and President
Enver Hoxha, all in American-accented English. Really weird stuff especially
if you tuned in by mistake and didn't realize what it was. All that stuff about
capitalist running dogs, lackeys, glorious workers and peasants etc.

I've started reading the Heraldo de Aragón lately. My flatmate in Australia once told me Spain isn't a western country. Maybe that counts.
