What sounds better: Czechia or Bohemia?

What should the short name of the Czech Republic be called?

Inspired by the Holland-Netherlands thread, this is a similar topic about a similar problem in the Czech Republic. Except it's more of a serious problem, as there has been no historical name for the lands inhabited by the Czechs as a whole.

Bohemia is older and sounds better because of its old history. Czech is too new and doesnt have enough antique flavor. ;)

(I know they were always called Czechs but the czech republic is a new thing)

Well, the people have always been known as the czechs...

Bohemia, the peculiarity of the name "Czech" has always annoyed me some. Czech stops off short, and Czechia doesn't sound natural. Czechia also reminds me of the people the Russians are busy fighting. It is a pity the Czechs broke up with the Slovaks, Czechoslovakia rolls off the tongue very nicely. As it is, I'd go with Bohemia if I was in charge of assigning names.

Bohemia sounds barbaric to me :( I like Czechia.

My personal favourit is "Where?", closely followed by "Who?".

Its too hard, but nobody in the Czech Republic ever mentioned Bohemia as possibility, it simply cant be. Moravia is too much significant to be ignored. I am also annoyed with Czech Republic, but I habitued with it. Czechoslovakia was best, but 50 years of ignoring cant have another end than split...

Two different ethnicities.
It was mainly because Slovaks feel opressed by Czechs. It should be solved after WWII after Slovak betrayal, but communist regime did his best to supress any chance of solution relationship. In 1969 it was too late, federalization was only because take support from Slovaks in normalization after Prague spring.

I'd love to have a Slovak explain it. I feel he/she would have very different words than betrayal :)
