...I need to find my Civ II disc now. Will it even run on Windows 10?
I'll go get kicked off the Civ IV forum for being off topic to maintain the balance of the cosmos.I think we're all heretics for talking about Civilization in Off-Topic.![]()
Can you get banned from a specific forum?
From experience, huh?
Also a rave: suddenly, by discussing civ games on Off-Topic, we have made Lemon go back to contradicting her signature and giving support for her mods!!Right on time! I was just thinking that I needed a new reason to hate Steam.
You can thank Photobucket for deleting that one. Picture the interface in hot pink...@Lemon Merchant the images under the HUD Color Utility are broken if you didn't see that. I wanted to see that "unfortunate example:"
I don't mind helping people who appreciate the help. It's the people who never say thank you for anything that make me mad. Also a rave: suddenly, by discussing civ games on Off-Topic, we have made Lemon go back to contradicting her signature and giving support for her mods!!

Linux gaming has been made easier through steam play. I am able to play most of my windows only titles on Linux using that. No setup or command line required . I was so happy to have my games work in Linux without breaking , I have not tried any mods. So can't say anything about stability.
I know. Windows or Steam pick your poison. I have too many games bought through steam right now.Just so you are aware, "but it works fine with Steam" is not a particularly convincing selling point in this particular case.
Will that work even in Linux? Some games I know you can just download with Steam then copy/extract the files into a folder outside Steam and they'll still run.
But the only game I have from Steam is Dota2; for all other games I go to GoG or, if possible, to the distributors themselves. Tarball and beyond!
Hmmm....I have my Civ IV CDs but no CD player in my new laptop to install them!!
Which means 'borrowing' an external CD drive or paying Steam for the privilege of another copy!!
