I actually had enemy upscaling turned on for a while because I was doing the main quests too high-level, but then I kept getting murdered by rats. So I turned it back off.
Wait, they never fixed that bug? Lazy......

See what I edited the post with. Being able to access an entire new spellbook and area is very enticing.

Oh, I know. I put in 5 years as a paying subscriber. Lots of good memories but not doing a lot of quests is my biggest regret. RS had some really cool quests. I want to say, at the high end of an estimate, that I had maybe 140-150 quest points...

I think there's also a glitch with upscaling where when Dandelion and Geralt stage a fake fight to impress someone, he can end up accidentally killing Geralt.

Oops

I made a horrible, horrible glitch.

Spoiler Witcher 3 spoilers :
I went back to a save with Ciri's Story: Breakneck Speed (where she and Dandelion are running away from Whoreson's men). The enemies seem to spawn infinitely, but I found that if you're able to get out of aggro range there's a few spots where you can hop over a ledge and get onto a rooftop to access the rest of Novigrad.

I couldn't really do much (talking to most NPCs for quests resulted in naked Geralt appearing and then being unable to get out of dialogue) but I did find you could visit the brothel.

I used cheats to spawn in some money. The scene itself was hilariously glitchy because the playermodel kept changing back and forth between Ciri (who didn't have most of the animations) and Geralt. And then afterwards...

You really should be a professional video game tester. You obviously have a gift.

I've tested some mods and campaigns for games over the year, and gametesting is, actually, a job, to the point of incorporating tedium, drudgery and repetitiveness. Trying to replicate the exact circumstances that produced a Lua-based malfunction can be downright infuriating.

Sometimes I'm not sure if it's a gift or a curse

I would totally contribute to crowdfunding a god-game made by aimee if I had a job

I was at 50% to reach level 90. Then I took on a metamorph I shouldn't have. I'm back to 30% Quite sad really. :(

I think my first character had about 20 deaths when I hit 90. About half of them were from overtuning metamorphs while getting that last level. Took so much longer than it should've, but it was fun. But I think I'm done with PoE for this league. I took that one character (Ed/Cont. trickster) to lvl 90, and 3 others (Necro, Facebreaker Cyclone Glad and Lightning Trap Sab) into maps. Was definitely a good league: metamorphs are a fun challenge, especially as you can tailor the difficulty to what you want, and make for a good change from the clearspeed heavy leagues we've had recently, while the altas rework is a major improvement for a relatively causal SSF player like me - I never got to Sirus, so never experienced some of the problems people seem to be having at the top end.

Been playing a couple of other games recently. Picked up Starsector, which feels kinda like a cross between Pirates and Mount and Blade IN SPACE! It's still in early access, and, much like those two games, I feel there's not enough variety of content long term (the early parts of a run are really fun, but once you get to a certain point, it gets pretty repetitive), but it's cheap, fun and there's a healthy modding community that's added a good amount of stuff to keep the game interesting. Also felt like playing a good RPG, so I dusted off KoToR having not played it for probably the best part of a decade, and, frankly, it's every bit as good as I remember. The story and characters do classic Star Wars nostalgia fantastically (way better than the new films for example) and the gameplay is really fun, despite, or maybe because of, it being "D&D but trying to hide it".

Great Naval Battles North Atlantic. Yes, I had to get a DOS-emulator going for it. Again. 8bit graphics ftw.

Wolcen releases today. In an hour. The pre release was fun. I am looking forward to seeing the full three acts.

Total War: 3 Kingdoms

Such a good game.

I've been playing Monster Hunter World recently. I played quite a bit on PS4 and started it on PC a bit ago. I haven't played for a couple weeks now but I am going to try to get back to it. I'm still pretty early, 4 star challenges is all. Also been taking my old PSP to work and playing while I poop.

I fired up Dragon Age Origins again. I had started dozens of characters but usually they fizzled out somewhere around the mage tower quest, and I only completed the game once with a dwarf noble rogue. So I made a human warrior to try and tank with sword and shield so I don't have to take alister everywhere. It's not a totally open world game but it's really good at building the universe behind what you are doing. Lots of good dialogue. Graphics haven't aged too poorly either. I'm going to try and build my party totally different from how I usually do since my one play through was the pretty typical alister, morrigan, wynne and me as a rogue party since that's the tried and true, healer, tank, mage, dps grouping. This time hoping to get more leliana or oghren involved or something to spice it up. I might try to go out of order too with some of the events.

Yeah, it's superb in many ways, most notably in actually offering some challenge and diplomacy.

MHW seems super popular, but so did the previous games - I played one (MH3, I think) on the 3DS and was very disappointed. Have you played previous ones as well, so you could compare MHW to them?

Uh, I guess I'll just put a heavy book on my keyboard for a while. :cringe:
I actually programmed an "auto-run" function as my thumb was hurting (I used a mouse side-button to gallop/run) from all the travelling (I avoided using fast travel because immersion).

I found a beneficial glitch where if you bring up the radial menu while the boat is moving forward, it will sometimes keep moving forward even after taking your fingers off the keys. But then it's kind of hard to actually stop it, which results in a lot of sunken boats from running into things.
