I don't even have enough hard drive space to install all my games at once.

All your games? It takes long enough "just" to install my top 20 or 30 games. ;)

Well I finally have a hard drive big enough to easily fit them all and still have room for more, so I figured why not install them all?

A couple of TB doesn't go very far these days, but sure, if you have the patience (and the bandwidth), why not?

Well I don't really have that many games. I think when I looked I currently have 81 total. Not that many at all compared to some libraries I've seen. And most of my games are either older or indie titles that are all under 10GB anyway.

Speaking of...

Is there any logical reason why Borderlands 3 takes up like 60GB of space when Borderlands 2 didn't even take up 6GB? I mean, honestly. Over 10x the size? Where the hell is that going towards?

New games might even need to be on an SSD to play well.

You can use a disk space analyzer (I like RidNacs) to see which folders and files take up the most space. I don't have Borderlands 3 or I'd check for you.

If I were to guess though, higher-res textures and meshes with more polygons and details.

As well, since storage is cheaper I wouldn't be surprised if the developers didn't do much compression on the files

Steam still won't launch for me. :(

It was down over here too, but it's been back up here for some 3 hours now.

Have you tried turning it off and then on again? It worked for me.

but... 10x!!! It's absurd!

Heh, I still work and game with an endecade-old computer that has IIRC 320 GB of total disk space and I still cannot find enough crap to fill up either partition.

That was going to be my next step. :(

In Fallout 3,

Spoiler :
I found a vault full of clones of some guy called Gary. WTH?

It took a reboot to get working. [sigh]

Now I am into Lords of the Realm, so disc space ain't a problem.
