What weapon should I get for self-defense?

Hopefully you understand that what is happening to kids on your campus is that they are "getting rolled".

There isn't much you can do about "getting rolled" yourself because the art of rolling involves hitting you so quickly you:

a) Don't realize who "rolled" you and
b) Cannot harm the individuals "rolling" you

The rollers want your cash, weed, and cell phones. Rollers will only target people who obviously have money or items of value on them. Basically the only way to avoid being rolled is to look poor.

I'm not really into the business of rolling people, but I do know that if I was to get into the business of rolling people, that I'd do it on college campus'. .

They can only punch out so many people a night so you have to understand that they're not going to roll everyone who comes by. They're going to wait in the bushes and they're only going to roll the people who are alone and obviously have money on them.

But guess what, if you get rolled you aren't gonna know it until you wake up.

Their illegal in New Jersey, and they have crazy strict gun laws too. I think pepper spray may be a better option. A knife fight isn't something I really want to be part of.

if you cut someone with a knife (even out of self defense) in NJ, you can go to jail.... I learned that at Prisoner assembly the other day (scared straight thing).

like 2-3 women broke into the lady's house, attacked her with a paint roller, and she cut them with a knife, and she went to prison (plus she had drug charges and stuff)

Pepper spray would be your best bet, but I'd say just walk in groups of people whenever possible to deter you from being a target

Interesting. I suppose the fact that people are able to "roll" others and get away with it most of the time is a sign that you live in a generally peacefully society.

If anyone attempted to rob someone here in Rio unarmed relying on surprise just by hiding in the bushes they would end up dead so fast it wouldn't be funny.

Thats not always an option. Tonight for instance I went to the dining hall by myself since ever else want to some rap battle or something and I hate rap.
So its a semi-light long path that goes near woods and bushes and there was no one else on it when I went. I kept looking behind my shoulders for some guy to jump me.

Totally going to buy pepper spray. Once I don't live on campus anymore I'm gonna buy a gun. Any of you gun nuts got a recommendation for the best gun for personal defense? Something affordable preferably and won't give me too much trouble because of NJ's stupid gun laws.

There are no food stamps here. Well, maybe in suburbs. I have never seen one in my life.

No, people here actually carry money. But to rob it you better have some decent firepower.

Don't they have security where you are? Mace and pepper spray are ok, but I'd complain to the admin. If they don't patrol the area better, I'd threaten to leave the school. I assume firearms aren't permitted on campus.

Personally, if I stood a regular risk of being jumped by 2-3 guys, I'd rather just pull out a firearm and end their spree. But I understand Jersey is rather communist.

Best if the student council/union makes a big stir about it. If the admin/security is lame enough to allow it to happen several times, they need to be fired.

The most recent one was 12:30 and its happening on the main campus where everything happens like parties, and events and such. So that's not exactly possible.
