GOP Candidate Bodyslams Reporter For Asking Question About Central Part of Campaign

The totally shocking thing here is that other than the victim the only media in the room were a team from Faux News, and they didn't cover for the Republican. The world is slowly tipping onto its head.

I guess I shouldn't have been so shocked by their instant, no-nonsense forthrightness on this. They're a propaganda machine but they're not that much of a propaganda machine.

It wasn't in the reporter's self-interest to play it down.

And fox has hit a ratings slump for not covering the Trump Russia stuff. They needed something to grab eyeballs.

They certainly used to be that much of a propaganda machine. I did start to wonder after I posted though; is this an actual Faux News crew, or was it just the local Fox affiliate?

"You just body slammed me and broke my glasses"?
It does sound a bit ludicrous by itself :)

Isn't Gianforte the one with the dumb claim about people eligible to be on health-care if they only do "real jobs"?

I'm praying this somehow gives Quist enough of a razor thin margin to have an upset.

Otherwise we end up with a highly politicized trial and/or a need for another special election.

Hey not to surprise anyone but prominent pro-Trump outlets and the large Trump reddit community are saying that the entire thing is a lie, and that even if it were true, the far-left reporter deserved it.

Ugh. It's just disgusting.

I guess now that Fox is being increasingly classed as part of the liberal media, it's just becoming easier and easier to see this all as a giant left wing conspiracy.

I'm just glad polls show that the media, while still remaining widely disliked, has managed to become slightly more approved of than Trump in terms of trustworthiness. Only thing worse than multi-source bias is single source bias.

This is where the GOP is at now. Bodyslamming people for asking questions they don't like.

wow...generalize much?

maybe got idea from comrades (in a bad stereotype russian accent)

https://decisiondeskhq.com/results/montana-at-large-congressional-election/

Live results from the Montana race. So far we have about 9% of the precincts reporting and 103,000 votes.

Quist has a narrow lead on Gianforte, and it sounds like they're counting absentee/early ballots first. This bodes bad for Gianforte if he doesn't gain a lead: the early/absent ballots were seen as a cushion against fallout from the poor CBO score and the assault story.

A CNN reporter, trying to talk to voters, identified herself was being from CNN. She was immediately met with cries of "Fake news! Fake news!" One man, walking into the church where the polling place was, shouted, "You're lucky someone doesn't pop you!"

Gianforte collected over a hundred thousand dollars in campaign contributions today. The Republicans offering cash praise for him assaulting someone.

Did someone say that the solution is compromising with these people?

Looks like the old Zinedine Zidane trick worked this time around. I thought we were trying to keep those evil Arab Frenchies out of Murica, but it seems their tactics have infiltrated our politics. I wonder if he had done this a week ago, whether the results would have been any different - as it was, most ballots had already been cast by mail and it takes a few days for something to build to where it dominate the news cycle.

Were the election day polls unusually Dem-leaning (or Lib-leaning, for Republicans who decided at the last minute they couldn't vote for Gianforte or Quist) compared to the mail-in ballots?

Definitely a "moral victory" for the Dems, holding a normally overwhelmingly Republican seat to the mid-single digits as in Kansas earlier this year. Their only real chance for a pickup is GA-6 - not that it would do anything to Ryan's House majority, but the winds seem to be blowing in the Dem direction since Trump took office.

The party of Trump can add assaulting reporters to the list of formerly abhorrent behavior they now don't seem to care about.

Hmm, I had a bit of hope that assault would be punished by the voters, but apparently it only makes one more popular with the SJW crowd*.

Nothing more delicious than Liberal Tears as Americans lose their health insurance and lives and America loses status in the world.

*The people using the term SJW, not the people being called SJWs by the SKW crowd.
