What's so good about beer?

Sure I do...neither are "multinational corporations."

And I believe you....

And last time I checked, Laos was not a part of China. To be fair to you though, I'm going to go check some news sources for updates on that front. Be warned: the only news sources I'm going to check are youtube clips of Whose Line Is It Anyway.

I know. I was just having a poke at your love for all things dead and communist.

The bottom line is this:
For all your moral posturing and your contempt for the 'man', you are still sadly reliant on the control of alcohol.
I find that more funny than you could know. A communist hero, who needs a beer...Now, that's real comedy.

Whats so good about drinking a liquid that costs twice as much as a can of coke?
Only cheap crapy beer cost twice as much as a coke(atleast over here), real beer cost more. ;)
Tastes really bad?
Granted there are alot of beer that tastes like s*** but if you put some effort in to it one can find something drinkable.
And if you drink it excessively leaves large blanks in your life?
This only happens when one does not know his/her limit or if you get overly confident when playing a drinkingame.
People who drink alcoholic beverages for taste are generally snobs; there are other reasons. ;)
Darn, that must mean that I'm a snob. I'm sceptical to any beer that you can se through without an effort, they usually taste like what the look like.

You really need to abandon your holier-than-thou attitude. It's painfully obvious you're just some dorky teenager who can't get a date and must appear macho on an internet message board where no one knows the real you.

Lame.

You know my grammar is far too good to be a teenager.
And when have I ever been 'macho'...? That's a good one!

You also just can't take the fact that I have the best of you.

Give up...
I have your fake commie act on the ropes.

Coke? The acidic sugar sledgehammer? No thanks, 'll take a brewski over a coke anytime :)

And it isn't twice as expensive over here anyway.
Tastes really bad?
Infidel rac.... no, beerist!!
And if you drink it excessively leaves large blanks in your life?
Ignorance is bliss :goodjob:

Beer is employed by young guys who are too wimpy to otherwise game girls (sorry godwynn/civg). Beer is employed by young girls as an excuse to act like the whores they are.

Although the above isn't true of everyone, it is certainly more true in America. It isn't even true of everyone in America, though. The general rule of thumb for college guys is that the more he brags about beer/alcohol and has beer/alcohol clothing and beer/alcohol posters, the bigger the loser he is. The one thing that takes the cake though in terms of loserness is the guy who actually COLLECTS all his beer and/or alcohol bottles and proudly displays them as if they are trophies

I'll take a rootbeer and some opiates on a beach or out doing something fun with a girl thats an effing dime over a giant circle-jerk and party whores. The college party scene can be a real awesome thing though for some people I guess. One problem with that, though, is that opiates make me impotent! oh well!

Beer is proof god loves us and wants us to be happy.

It's definately an aquired taste. I had no stomach for it when I was younger.

It also goes pretty good in chili.

What's so good about beer... Hmmm. Whilst it tends to taste, presumably, as to fermented camel's piss - it is essentially, a drink for rugby-heads and beer-bellied drunks. Or not.

Beer, however, is most excellent for chasing down high-proof spirits.

Can't stomach a 60proof vodka? Soft-c*ck. Chase it down. No sweat.

Now, days of yore, I could down a few litres of 60proof with few ill effects - but for several days of mammoth head-aches, vomiting, and inability to talk - coupled with extended periods of blankness.

Back in the day I thought this was pretty cool. Now I wonder how many tens I have reduced my IQ by...

Anyway, Beer is good for soft-arses to chase down spirits. People like me.

never into beer. its bitter, its gassy and its expensive. thou i have to agreed that its still cheaper than wine. i never really acquired the taste.

There is a reason people drink wine on (especially first) dates - to loosen up and get comfortable.
And laid.

And there's nothing quite like a cold beer after a long hard day
Indeed it tastes best when you deserve it the most.

And that's the key to beer. It senses when you need it the most and makes the extra effort to deliver. The only other drink that does that is coffee.

And Pepsi.

I've had some great (and greatly appreciated) bottles of water too.

:mischief:

And coffee is teh nassy.

But yeah, there are times when a beer hits the spot.

Beer tastes like the rancid cold soup that my parents force me to eat. :p

Why do ppl think it's so good ? Because it's the cheapest(?) alcoholic drink around. Plebs. :p

People like it because of the romantic nonsense that surrounds the drink.

Much like smoking, people think intoxicants are socially essential.

It really underlines how brainwashed we can be.

Nuff' said.

Propaganda that proves my point!

I just look at the misery of street drunks and then I wonder if they were
once people who thought booze was sociable and a great thing to imbibe.

They learned the hard way...They fell for the illusion.

I have no idea. I know i hate the stuff when i was younger, but now i love it. Maybe its just the dieing off of tastebud and the lost ability to taste the crappy part of beer. I like durians and fermented fish product now, which i used to hate.
