When did the Chinese learn to care about the truth?

Should allow more Chinese immigrant. the food are better. And then, u don't need to apologize for Celine Dion anymore.

Japanese food is infinately better than Chinese food. But the Chinese are open 24/7 and only close on Tuesday. And atleast the Japanese already have all their shots.

The Chinese invented Sushi also... So thats why the Japanese still needs to apologize for WWII...

Anti-war people blame media tycoons cooperate with US military forces;
Pro-war people blame media having "liberal bias" and hate America.

It's not news, but most of Chinese people don't understand English, and for those who understand English, most are not interested in US Domestic Affairs. So they feel, "WOW! CNN lied!"

The Chinese mash everything together and I just won't accept that. You wouldn't let your ketchup touch your potato would you, or your green peas?

That's my style: Yogurt+egg+beans+cabbage+rice+meat.

And no, Japanese dishes may be delicious, but the quantity is too low, and its cost-efficiency sucks.

Mostly because the Chinese media tell them its bad. How do they really know?
In the old days, that might be the case. Not anymore now.

With this latest Tibet riots --> crackdown in Lhasa --> overseas protests by Tibetans --> Olympics disturbances --> counterprotests by overseas Chinese brouhaha it was only in the last step where the mainland Chinese media was "on the spot". In all other phases mainland Chinese media failed to report (or might indeed actually be trying to hide) events as they unfolded, and at every point was forced to divulge the story only after information has been flying all over the internet and the rumor mill, with the sources mostly originating from Western media. People were judging for themselves way before the offical media even made a peep.

BTW, in this picture, there is the ROC flag also. Dunno if the girls are from Taiwan....the centre one look hot thou...

That's the whole point of my posting the pics. It's a bunch of students from the mainland and Taiwan coming together and casting aside their political differences because of the Tibet issue.

Ketchup is on my French fries at McD's. :p

:cringe:

Might've been better without the yogurt...

Nah you're just ordering the wrong things. Stay away from the exotic and expensive sushi and sashimi and go for rice toppings or ramen. Not only heavier and more filling, cheaper too. :yup:

@Gelion and Dida
Yes, ironic isn't it? With Russia and China freed from "that godless ideology" they thought that victory has at last been achieved, that the new political entities will become fawning worshippers only too eager to gain the masters' approval. How wrong that vision has turned out to be.

Haha! What a victim!

It's a good thing that big evil master didn't get you, isn't it?

We all know that Russia and China are better places to live than the US!

<insert big evil monster-US pict>

You just keep on keeping on, 2nd world. You know better than nations that can actually feed all of their people.

ps. When was China "freed" from communism? Did I miss a major event this decade?? Was Tienamen square successful while I wasn't looking?

Nobody's comparing. :p See? That's where we differ fundamentally. You feel the need to be number 1, to feel superior and to leave everyone else in the dust with the result that you :run: whenever somebody else shows signs of catching up. We don't. I dunno about the Russians but us Chinese know that on the balance, the US is probably a better place to live but do we care at all? :dunno: Gradual improvement of our own lives is more than enough.

And for the record, food is plentiful here. Much cheaper and more abundant than the US I dare to say. :p

ps. When was China "freed" from communism? Did I miss a major event this decade?? Was Tienamen square successful while I wasn't looking?
Oh get with the times. Not everything has to have a major "event" tag. Change can be so gradual you never notice until it's too late.

I see, so you vote now in China? As far as nationalism goes, I've seen plenty from China lately so spare me the "we know our place as subjects of tyranny in a totalitarian country". If you are SO not concerned with your level of power, why not let Tibet go?

Let me know when you get some human rights over there, Mr. China is not communist.

When the government doesn't OWN the people. That's be a good start. As long as the NBA writes checks to the Chinese Communist government for a star's preformance, I'm calling BS on your "change".

And why would it be "too late"?? A democratic China would be a huge boon to the US. I can't imagine trading with China when they don't have slave labor and a total lack of environmental regulations. We would bury a democratic China, and the Chinese government knows it. Good luck with your gradual transition. Till then, enjoy your government owning you.

You just keep on keeping on, 2nd world. You know better than nations that can actually feed all of their people.

And we're doing such a good job as a shining example for the rest of the world aren't we? Homeless beggars and our own poor; people like them are present throughout the world, but I would assume that since we, the USA, is the best country in the world, we would have been able to eliminate those problems

ps. When was China "freed" from communism? Did I miss a major event this decade?? Was Tienamen square successful while I wasn't looking?

Tiananmen Square has been completely blown over by our Western media, my tour guide back in Beijing a few years ago participated when he was in Beida had rather amusing stories (but dark) about the event. I'm sure historians in the future will be looking back at our times and try to find a "turning" point, but I sure don't see one :mischief:

Let me know when you get some human rights over there, Mr. China is not communist.

How are human rights part of not being Communist? :p

Communist do not recognize human rights. Check the current map and history, you will find this to be true.

Stalin
Pol Pot
Mao
Castro
Current Chinese goverment

etc, etc, etc

I know, I know, they are not REAL communists. REAL communism is something totally different! :rolleyes:

But countries can still be not Communist, or in some cases, be democracies and still violate human rights :p. Thus recognizing or having human rights is not a criterion in which a nation is determined to be Communist or not ;) I'm pretty sure tons of right-wing dictators didn't recognize human rights but they weren't Communists; what I'm trying to say is that human rights alone do not make a country Communist or not.

Don't be silly. Just because quasi-democracies violate human rights (and no, Gitmo does not qualify) means nothing about ALL COMMUNISTS ignoring human rights.

I'm not saying that all human rights violations come from communists. I'm saying that all communist states ignore human rights. Get it straight.

The fact that some psuedo-democracies do as well is irrelevant to the point. You, sir, are being an obstructionist with typical "look over there" tactics.

How does Gitmo and Abu Ghraib *not* qualify as violations of human rights? Just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's right! But that's for another thread...

What I'm merely trying to get across is that just because China does not recognize or stop violating human rights does not mean she's still Communist :p Western Liberal Democracy is not the only other form of government/ideology in the world you know...
