When will PS2 get boring?

I disagree, the reverse is true.

Example: Xbox has nothing but sports and shoot 'em up games while PS2 and soon the PS3 have more RPG's, more racing simulations, more strategy games, more of everything I'm interested in.

Of course with consoles everyone has their tastes so whatever floats ones' boat. ;)

How in the world can you say that with Oblivion, Mass Effect, and Bioshock all 360 exclusives?

I don't know you tell me because that's not what I said.

Walk into your local video game retailer and look at the Xbox shelf. That's what I was trying to say based on what I see out in the market.

I'm not familiar with the games you mentioned. They must not be in my area of interest hence I followed my original post with "to each is own". ;)

It's not an exclusive if it is being ported to PC. Chances are most console owners have a PC.

Scratch Bioshock. Mass Effect is a 360 exclusive. For now :p

Bioshock is an exclusive I think.

You think wrong. Bioshock was meant for PC from the start, they just decided to port it on Xbox 360 when they saw it could run the engine.

I just hope the PS3 wont fail in the United States because of its high price tag.

Every other console in gaming history that was expensive like that failed.

£425 is no nice amount of money to blow on a console either. This is what turned me off buying the PS3 over a 360.

A

Any examples?

You cannot compare that with the PS3. The market back then was oversaturated, now there is only 3 players. Plus I heard the the preorders are going well.

True dat Cleric.

I remember that time well. I ended up buying an N64 when clearly I should have went with the PSX. Oh well.

If the preorders are indeed going well for PS3 than realistically I probably won't get my hands on one until next year. Which is fine actually because it should give game developers more time to crank out the type of games I want to see on the PS3.

The preorders are going well because they pratically have none available. 400,000 is just over what the 360 had available and you could not get it easily till after spring. Now that it is readily available the PS2 still beats it in monthly sales. Too pricey IMO.

We won't know whether or not a $5-600 console can sell until PS3 is readily available, and that won't be till next summer most likely.

I am sitting on the sideline and enjoying PC gaming. Until Mass Effect or Forza comes out, the 360 won't have a game I would consider buying the unit for ( ust not into FPS's so could give two ****'s about Gears). I still don't see a game that would make me spend $600 on a PS3.

I have a pretty nice PC and Home Theater set up, I am satisfied with my gaming choices between the PC, Xbox and PS2. After buying everything at launch this last gen, I just don't feel like waisting the money this time until there is a game library I must play.

The Pre-Orders in Gamestop were $100. A lot of Consoles from earlier gaming history are now over-priced. But that might be because they sucked and noone bought them. Also, they were just beginning. There was no Blu-Ray back then. :p

Whats so good about blu ray jw?

Im serious i dont know anything about it. What makes it so much better then regular dvds and cds?

Blu-Ray discs holds about 25-50 gigs of space (depending on your sources) whereas single-sided, single-layer DVDs holds a little over 4. I have heard that they can fit 100 gigs through adding layers and more could be in the works. Expect them to add $10 per disc over older technologies.

My Playstation 2 is just about dead so I will get another one by next year to hold me for a reduced cost PS3 in a couple years.

Nope!

It's not so much length, as quality, HD Films will be rather large
