If God created the universe, then he created Satan. He is the prime mover of the good, and of the evil. This problem is solved by "free will", but I cannot find free will anywhere in the bible.
Okay, um...
You accept the assumption that God "wrote" the Bible, but you do not accept the assumption that Satan has a hand in everything? It seems to me like you are deliberately interpreting Christianity however you want in order to attack it.
Um... common knowledge that the bible is the word of god, in the eyes of christians.![]()
I don't believe in either, tbh, as my avatar and siggy will tell you... I accept no such assumptions.
In the eyes of christians, god did write the bible. no assumption needed.
Anyway, as has already been pointed out, god made satan, thus god has a hand in everything satan does. Hence god's evil >>>>>> satan's.
Where in the bible is Free Will?
The Bible is not the be-all and end-all of Christian theology.
Never said It was. I am talking about in the bible, not in the writings of St. Aquinas or other theologians. From a strictly biblical point of view, where is free will? Did you not look at the title of this thread?
congratulations, you are a misotheist,
I would be afraid of God, if I believe God existed
Christianity was never about "strict biblicalism" in the first place. That's a novelty that occurred in the past two hundred years or so, and it's foolish to put it under that lens. Fundamentalists arn't as "conservative" as you might they are, because their doctrine is new.
Stop deflecting. Where in the bible is free will stated as being true?
I'll deflect as much as I damn well want. How is it relevant?
Why should I answer you when you refuse to answer mine? Oh, and this is a civil discussion![]()
This was never a civil discussion, considering your OP. You are being completely intellectually dishonest.
The bible never explicitly says that free will is true or false, and neither does it explicitly say that the trinity is true or false, but that doesn't change anything about orthodox christian doctrine.
There is no such thing as a "strictly biblical point of view" within Christianity, and it is foolish to use those lens.
