The Women
good parts? seeing Debra Messing again, always delightful, as well as Meg Ryan (though she seems to morph into Melanie Griffith somehow)
bad parts? as always. women like to shop, have an inherent need to hold onto their partners or steal another ones. oh and women gossip. when a woman suddenly realizes her lifelong ambition she a) always succeeds and b) it is always because she has no partner she would not rather cater to. the pre-pubescent daughter serves only to despise her mother when she is not able to hold onto her man, serve as a makeshift link between two friends (the mother and that woman I can not stand) because she has "boy troubles" and to be a tool (in every sense of the word) in the "plot" to get her parents back together. after all, daddy only cheated once (that we know of) and that is "ok", see below.
the one homosexual relationship (apparently required by the screenwriter's guild now) does not get a story arc, does not get to even have a kiss, is there only to enhance the attractiveness of the hottie of the week and for comedic relief.
oh, and men are apparently always allowed a freebie when it comes to affairs.
2/10 1,5 points for debra messing and 0,5 for making me chuckle at times even though I hated the movie.
gods be praised I am now turning into a woman. egads!
