Eh, given that it's in the late morning I simply use the breaks to urinate, make myself some tea and/or set lunch to cook. It works.

Well, Better Call Saul got interesting for one whole episode, then veered back into boring, overwrought melodrama. I don't know what happened with this show but it feels like they're trying too hard if that makes sense.

Miles behind on it. I don't think it's all that

The first three seasons were really good dramas. I am not sure if this is the last season (I think it is but am unsure) but in any case, they are clearly trying to impress people with how good the writing and acting is but it's all just terribly boring and it makes me care about the characters a lot less.

I watched ALL of I Am Not Okay With This in one sitting. Another actually-good superhero show. Can't wait for more episodes. I've also been watching Locke and Key... it's interesting, but I haven't finished it so I can't say much more than that.

Avenue 5 continues to be very entertaining and I hope other people give it a shot.

That's on my list of things I'm absolutely, 100% certain I will get around to watching, any day now. Have you tried Raising Dion? I've only watched the first ep so far, but it seemed pretty good.

Another show on the above-mentioned list. HBO has helpfully decided to overcharge for their streaming service, freeing me from the conundrum of whether to choose them over somebody else. Many of their series end up on Amazon Prime after they've completed their run, although I don't know how long that'll continue.

I think they should have made it more light-hearted. Saul Goodman is a great character, but he's not being used in a way to make the show really interesting.

I have a friend with a satellite connection that includes HBO and access to HBO Go so I get through them. I do not know if I would pay for it; I only watch Bill Maher and Avenue 5 consistently. I like John Oliver but don't watch it except on Youtube because that platform does a great job of putting content you like in front of you. Chernobyl was amazing, but one-off. HBO does have great one-off, limited series but I don't care for most of them.

I never thought about this angle but I completely agree with you. It's gotten way too heavy like Breaking Bad but they are not pulling it off because they have turned every episode into 15 minutes of slow-burning setup with lackluster payoff. I do think a more lighthearted approach would have been good for the show.

Avenue 5, Chernobyl, Watchmen and The Plot Against America are all current HBO stuff I'd watch if I could.

So I've stuck with The Good Place. I have about six episodes left before the end. I'm kind of annoyed with it. When the show moved away from the "quirky" hijinks of the afterlife, it became actually enjoyable to watch. But then they decided to go back to the quirky hijinks, and season 4 up to this point has completely sucked. I'm hoping it rebounds in the second half, but I doubt it.

I might try and finish it today. The book I'm reading got really good suddenly so I might just burn through both at the same time.

Speaking of HBO, have you watched Barry? I think it's probably the best show currently on TV. Season 3 is coming in April I believe.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that one. I've also heard good things about Euphoria and The Outsider. I watched the first couple of eps of Westworld and it didn't excite me, but I've heard the recent, 3rd season is an improvement. What I don't know is whether one would need to get through the first 2 seasons or could just skip ahead to the 3rd.

Chernobyl was excellent!

Watchmen
was kind of crap, really deviated from the original GN.

I forgot that The Plot Against America starts Monday. Trailer looked interesting.

It might be difficult jumping into the third season of Westworld if you haven't watched both previous seasons. I've watched both seasons twice and I still don't think I understand everything that's going on. The showrunners really like to play around with locations, timelines, etc., which can make it hard to follow. One of the few shows that I always would read multiple online recaps and reviews.

the "quirky" hijinks of the afterlife
I recommend Steve Buscemi playing God in Miracle Workers. Aided by Daniel Radcliffe to boot.

Okay, well, I don't know. Most of it was bad, but a couple parts were really, really good. I don't know how I feel about this show.

The existentialism at the end wasn't great for me to deal with, though. I don't need media to badger me about something I badger myself about every day.

The second season of Kingdom just came out, so I'll be watching that next.
