And from a social-evolutionary point of view, that train of thought can hold some weight, as chauvinistic as it may appear. So I don't find it stupid at all.

First thing, that's not the reason women get paid less. None of society's most dangerous jobs are particularly high paying anyways.
And from a social-evolutionary point of view polygamy can hold some weight too, but it doesn't make it any less barbaric and patriarchal.

Indeed, I would agree with that, though by implying a negative connotation to certain words, say, patriarchal, isn't necessarily the way I'd go about it, either. Just the essence of the argument for what it is, and as much as I disagree with it/it's implications, isn't so black and white. Not like he's saying that red is blue, or anything.

Not necessarily, it would depend on circumstance. For example those high rise buildings with window washers; those window washers are supposed to be paid a great deal of money due to the job's inherent dangers, but for the undocumented workers, they would get minimum wage.
