That's a history of the cold war from the Soviet perspective. Not exactly Marxist I would assume, but certainly left-leaning.

What do they need so many volcanoes for, anyway? I mean, the ones in Kamchatka are anti-Cthulhu measures mostly, but you'd think Iceland wouldn't have any such concerns.

The icelandics got wind of a planned secret air assualt from the UK and the Netherlands to recoup the Icesave debts, and thus activated their volcano defense screens.
