While We Wait: Part 2

By visiting, I dont mean a day. Also, I spent two and a bit months mid-December-late-February in Winnipeg/Churchill, with a family friend who works as a pilot for a bush-plane company.

I wore a skinsuit and skated on an outdoor rink for a week in Iqaluit. Churchill and The Peg, cold though they are, don't get as cold as Frobisher Bay in February.

My update is coming. New style, More like newspapers from different nations covering the events. But it seems to be working out.

I must say, I am glad I dropped Speedskating. also that I dont live in Iqaluit. or any of the territories, for that matter. This isn't a competition of who's been to the coldest place, because it is between you, das, and the scandinavians there.

also, looking forward to the update. very much. I expect REMOVED

Hah. Well I'm one of the few NESers that can claim beach worthy weather in the middle of Winter, so I think I win :smug:

The Scandinavians have the Gulf Stream, if it goes that far. What's the weather like in Yekaterinburg das?

I live in southern California. We have beach worthy weather almost every part of the year :p

My weather only gets down to -30 at worst (-34 for those of you with a sensible scale), but we get considerably more snow than most places. Schools in most of the USA need, what, 6 inches or less to close? We need a foot or a foot and a half; normally the drifts get over 6 feet in my front yard by February, and in the woods they get much bigger.

Yes, but Pacific water is significantly colder than Atlantic water :smug:

private schools close at a few cm's.

public schools close at parents discretion

high schools dont close*, the buses just get cancelled and nobody bothers to go

*they close when the army is called in.

The rest of Canada was laughing so much when Toronto had to call in the army. Did you see the Air Farce spoof of situations like that?

It was a Torontonian after the big blackout talking about how they 'felt the same pain' as the Maritimers who suffered from that Hurricane.

The blackout was quite enjoyable. It gave us all a new perspective on life. IDK what pain he was talking about.

and yes, they play that skit at least once every winter.

I've lived through about 5 Typhoons and 2 Hurricanes, as well as blackouts of various kinds and earthquakes. Natural disasters just don't phase me anymore. I quite enjoyed sitting around inside and missing school most of the time, with or without power.

Of course, I have yet to experience a volcano eruption...

EDIT: Oh, and tornadoes. Lots of tornadoes.

While natural disaster are quite fun, civil war is where it's at.

Yes yes, you win

Spoilers please?

Man, we need more Asian NESers, and we need to go recruiting in South America and Africa.

If it helps, I'm living in Brazil this Summer on "Official U.S. Navy Bussiness" with my dad

The real or fake one?
