While We Wait: Part 4

But thanks anyway. There are some NESers that are always ready and willing to help, and then there are some that react to the smallest question fiendishly!
Yes, people are different and you will find that over time, that rules pretty much stays the same. :)

@Farow: Help Ron Paul, he really needs it!

Well, I am not supporting him nor will I ever support him. I do not think he would be a good president. I agree with him on some issues but in many ways he is too far right for this country and his foriegn policy views differ with mine. Anyway, it is mathmatically impossible for him to win the nominaton at this point :).

Who would be good president in your view? Obama? I would think so. He appeals to the young.

I do not want to debate politics here because I do not want to make enemies. All the candidates running are good people and I think America has a big choice this year. That is all I will say :)

I'm a junior, but I would love to go to GW and do their Poli Sci/Public Policy BA/MA program with a minor in History or English or something...

Oh dear lord, I'm a junior and I want to go to GW too! Okay, change of college plans; must not go to the same college as another neser :mischief:

I don't like to talk about where I've applied, since I feel pretentious, and I'm probably going to go to a 'normal' school at any rate, for the scholarships if nothing else.

The point at which I decided not to apply to either Princeton or Johns Hopkins was when I visited both campuses and saw how depressed everyone looked. To continue the psychological vein of thought, there are some troubling statistics on behavioral problems among students at Princeton, among other high-level institutions.

One thing I do know, however, is that I'm going to pursue a History major and a pre-med concentration, with possible minors in French or maybe anthropology.

For all you seniors where are heading to for college and what are planning to major in? If you are not going college what are you doing after High School?

I've applied to Yale (deferred, not surprised), Stanford, Amherst, Swarthmore, Carleton, and University of Michigan (accepted). Have no idea on the major.

I'm going to the University of Michigan next year and will probably major in German or Business, and considering a minor in another language, maybe Russian.

If my other college plans fall through, we may well end up meeting. :)

You guys are making me feel like an overachiever.

I got into U Chicago early action, and just got accepted to Williams. Still waiting on a decision from Princeton.

Accepted into U Chicago's early action? You're definitely an overachiever, then. ;)

Probably the same here, actually. I wouldn't really want to go to the University of Michigan (simply because too many people I know go there), but I wouldn't really mind it, either.

thanks for that iggy, always good to get a local's opinion. SFU.

masochist much? I wonder why there is such a shortage of doctors when they make it SO impossible to be one...

Well, SFU's okay, but UBC is much stronger in the Sciences. SFU has much more of a 'small university' feel. UBC has tens of thousands of students.

And well, a lot of people in my family and several close friends have gone to medical school. Though personally, I wouldn't like some of the stresses of being a medicinal doctor.

I've always wanted to be an Entomologist, or a Zoologist.

Getting in the 99th percentile of your junior year for the PSAT.

I got 96%. So close, but so far. :(

Think a 235 will cut it?

I think I kind of lucked out with UVA being in-state for me, though part of me wishes to go out-of-state just to be somewhere else.

Let's talk about how conservative we are!

I like Obama over hillary for most things, but the MOST important issue for me goes to hillary.

It is so important to me that I have COMPLETELY changed my support to Hillary, for the 1st time. Unfortunately for her...

My son went to Swarthmore and it was a perfect school for him. He was somewhat introverted and it was small enough that he didn't get lost and he learned to be much more extroverted. He still lives in Philly and still sees many of his college friends.

Well I already started university and studying chemistry. It doesn't matter too much for me what I'll learn as long as it has something to do with science or at least work in a lab studying something. Learning and getting paid for it, ha, job of a lifetime.

Another thing I had ideas to learn was something in computers since the game making industry also appeal to me much. Who knows maybe one day I'll know a third language, a computer one :p (Only know two really... Hebrew and English).

@Bird: Are you 60 or something? I mean everytime you post you always have a new kid who went to college. :p

Pretty close! I have two kids, a son and a daughter: 25 and 20. They are the two I always post about.
