While We Wait: Part 5

Which is not tied to the win, it came out the best that Wall Street could expect, with the Democrats failing to gain a filibuster-proof majority (which is good), while Obama claims a wide mandate in the electoral and popular vote. If Wall Street didn't know that Obama was going to win yesterday, then they are idiots.

Stock markets almost always go back to the historical average with some slight increase as time goes by. (Recent years have been going up above the average)

No, the election day did that, stocks fell on opening bell Nov 5th.

I thought the stock market fell because two reports, one about layoffs doubling in October compared to last year, with the second report showing a larger then expected decline in employment being released? :p

Well, Thirteen's Night Business Report said it was fear by investment banks that Obama would raise regulations.

Because he has magical regulatory powers and can do things 76 days before he takes office.

I'd still shoot your brains out...
Tsk. Oblique threats work so much better. Naked menace is just so last century. The whole 'sign the Tripartite Pact, King Boris, or we'll invade your country and make you take poison, and your little dog too' bit is overdone.

About Civ 4 - my latest complaint is the modern age tech progress. It seems odd that the Romans can rush straight to rocketry tech and build the first 'Apollo Program' without knowledge of radio, computers or even 'industrialisation'. And I'm guessing I'll be able to rush the Space Elevator wonder with my great scientist in a few turns time, even though I don’t have computers myself, or plastics, or fission, or lasers or anything remotely futuristic. For me, its another immersion-breaking issue. It reminds me of Call to Power where you had increasingly random mixes of napoleonic soldiers alongside F-15's and giant robots. Seems like the ancient and medieval tech trees make much more logical sense, which is saying something.

But seriously, it's time to prepare to fight the zerg.

One of these days, a president is going to slip up and say something like 'may god bless the Overmind' :)

What? I don't get the joke. That's Korean, no?

There's no joke, I just felt like posting something strange, inspired by all the excitement and sleep-deprivation etc.

How in the world have you come around learning Swedish?

I don't actually know any language except English, I just use the auto translations on google -> language tools. It also messes things up in the process, which I find entertaining.

Cool, except that incarnation doesn't seem especially terrifying :D

He and his colleagues believe the animal was a soft-bodied, dome-shaped organism that lived on seabeds and fed by absorbing dissolved nutrients from the ambient environment.

That helped, but the election day rally was clearly not because of Obama being elected, and the next day drop was probably started by fears of Obama's taxing.

You have no idea what america needs and requires. Leave your record for your own damn politics.

Give me a break. Harper's going to fail. It's pretty fundamental that when you GIVE people money, and tell them that they're entitled to said money, and then you try and take it away their mind goes "Wait! I thought I was entitled to this!" and a tug of war starts between those who want to keep what they earn, and those who want to take it from those who earn it. I'm sure it's already began, but I don't follow it. In these cases, those who are the recievers, not the contributors, get their way because there are always more parasites than hosts. And unfortunately the parasites have votes.

Double standard much?

Yeah, Obama's tax changes magically appear, even though he isn't even the president yet, eh?

Double standard much?
Nah, Americans are the only people allowed to fiddle around with and criticize other countries' internal politics by virtue of SUPAHPOWAHness.
