You've read Watchmen, right?
I don't think I've actually read it, but I'm reasonably familiar with it nonetheless. The Internet is the bane of literature.
Well, you read a lot of Russian books anyway, so you might as well.

Also, it's much easier to find new Russian literature in the Internet than new English literature. Other than English language literature in Russian, which is sort of an argument in favour as well, although a twisted one.
I was actually prepared to do everything in my power to smite this person before I became horrified with realizing what I was doing.
That sort of happens, I guess, though I feel more disgusted than horrified when tempted to do so. Given the nature of Internet conversations the result here will probably be anything but what is intended, and damaging, in one way or another, to everything and everyone within radius of impact other than the person in question.
Anyway, I don't think I've ever genuinely hated individual people that I haven't met in person. I don't hate people, I hate a lot of things about them though, both individually and generally, and as related to specific groups.
Simple Point: I am deeply saddened by the influence you people are having over me

.
It's not us, it's the Internet, and modern civilisation in general. And society is to blame.
When deciding whether to read a short story (here or elsewhere) or not, what bits do you people read first?
...it's been a while since I've read a short story. Mostly I go by author and title (which means, outside of the Internet, that I take a tome of Chekhov and look for promising titles), in absence of titles I just look at the beginning and the end.
