You really don't need to know a lot of history to play in LINESII- it's also more realistic if people don't know the history from turn one- emu's rewritten his nation's official history at least three times now.

That really depends on who is returning... very major nations which don't have players are the Imperial Republic of Paleaveritas, Norvalin, Kehexou, Kalmar, Hugion, Gamorrea, Rozan, Fairhelt... and anything that people don't take back.
