First off, this is not intended to be a religious debate, though it has the possibility to devolve into one, so I ask you to refrain from flaming. Rather, it is an opinion on who you think passes onto the afterlife(If multiple afterlifes exist in your religion, pick the best one), regardless of if you're Christan, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Kilmorphian or one of Cthulu's Cultists.

Poll will be up shortly.

EDIT: To clear up some misconception: By afterlife, I'm meant the ultimate goal most strive for. Heaven would be the afterlife, but Purgatory/Hell would not(even though they technically are. I guess I messed up the wording here).

Everyone gets dissociated into their molecules sooner or later.

Voted: Afterlife doesn't exist

Reasons:
1) I don't believe in the soul, or rather, I have no reason to believe in the soul, the immortal self or eternal ego.
2) The best way to explain what awaits after death, is to remember that which precedes birth.

Those who exhibit Dudely virtues get to the afterife. So I went for the virtuous option.

Well since you are all atheists, I can say this. The official position of the both the oldest and most direct Christian Church, the Catholic and Orthodox. Say this.
Salvation is granted to ALL humans, regardless of religion.
The Orthodox Church is the most direct and most complete path, every other religion strays too much with too much pointless and strange prayers or deeds.
So, everyone gets into afterlife. Whether you like it or not ;)
Both believers and virtuous non-believers make it.

I also don't believe hell is "eternal". Interesting question to find an answer to, be back later.

I don't think there is an afterlife. Especially the hell that christians talk about.

my signature said:
you BETTER worship HIM, or DIE...for eternity...with no senses (nerves, eyes, ears, smell, touch, taste...no PERCEPTION because your body will already be DEAD and incapable of PERCEPTION)

I believe that all good people go to heaven, regardless of belief.

Who determines how much goodness is required, over what period of time, and what its definition is?

Is it me who can best interpret God's judgment on who is good person and who is not?

Morality is always sketchy and vague on what is right and what is wrong. There isn't some graph to follow. You cannot squeeze human goodness and civility into a mold for you to follow. If we did that... well we would get organised religion and nobody wants that.

I kind of like to think that if there is an afterlife decent people get to have their fun time there. no idea what happens to the sordid ones, though.

probably no afterlife, though, for none of us. personally I'd rather buy that spaceship on the dark side of the moon story or naked amazon women on venus who ride dinosaurs.... wait, that right there was my perfect afterlife, I just jinxed it.
