Who listens to celebrity political opinions?

i don't understand what you're trying to explain (to sharpe) ?!? i often trust political views from artists i like (i don't know Linda Rondstadt). There is a sensibility that real politicians cannot see, they are too busy with lobbies, political pressures. An artist (not all of them) can stay neutral and talk with a liberty the politician can't
that's dangerous.

it's like soliciting a culinary opinion from an eight year old about how much sherry i should add to my alfredo sauce.

kitten, I know what it means. But I think it's a stretch to say that the intellectual gas tank is full.

You mean celebrities like actors as Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger etc ?
They all actually ran for office and won elections.

Reagan, Governor of California (two terms) and President of the United States, also two terms.

Eastwood, Mayor of Carmel, California, one term (by choice.)

Schwarzenegger, Governor of California, one term (political future unknown.)

Linda Rondstadt goes out to Indian casinos and sings about Michael Moore. You're comparing apples and dodos.

Then what about Bruce Willis and Britney Spears? Also Bush supporters.

A lot of bands I like occasionally write political/serious songs. Some of them have changed my views on a variety of issues. I don't see anything wrong with it. She (whoever she is) is dumb, but so are a lot of people. Some of them even get elected. (And no, that's not just a dig at Bush.)

Well I`m a big fan of Hitler and I find it very disturbing that he is connected to something as disgusting as USA.
Shame on you Linda Rondstadt!

I believe that Hitler`s descendants also find this as outrageous as I do.

BLASPHEMY!!!

Well I just think that Hitler had more artistic sense than Hollywood combined. Some of his paintings are really beautifull.

BTW: You dont know word called "sarcasm"?

Maybe she has been watching that movie Boys from Brazil. Where they clone Hitler and there's lots of little Hitlers running around.

She might be thinking of shooting kids who look a bit like Hitler!!! Lock the strange, mad woman up before it's too late!!

You didn't find it odd that sometimes he never bothered to paint faces on the people?

hey everyone has his right to a political opinion,i found his post rather funny.
certainly more interesting than seeing britney spears talking about her support for g.dublya b.
:sniper: :band:

Some art connoisseur was shown some of Hitler's painting, and asked to say what he though of them. He said they showed technical skill, but also that they betrayed a total lack of interest in people.

Quite possibly not true, but a good story anyway.

Conservative answer: b

Linda Ronstadt may be inadvertently right about this because the cultural and moral climate in pre-Nazi Germany was:

Conservative answer: c

True of False?

Slippery slopes on one side of a canyon can be just as steep as those on the other side of the canyon.

Conservative answer: True

Good points, S-Dude.

In a related note, there is an Australian Blogger ( http://disectleft.blogspot.com/ ) who sometimes likes to juxtapose quotes from Mein Kampf with excerpts from platforms and position papers of various European Green Parties. Virtually indistinguishable!

Well, Hitler was great animal lover. He really loved his dogs. He also said that he was a vegetarian, but it could be that he was lying.

Nazi- rasicm is thing that I cant understand or tolerate. The reasons allthough were not only ideological, but political as well. At first it was only reason to get in the power. Jews were good scapegoat for losing ww1 an other things as well. Racism towards Jews was already there, nazis just used it to get to power. Jews have always been pursued around Europe and they had been under persecution many times before nazis.
We should also remember that rasicm was part of everyday life in US (and other countries) also at that time. (and still is...)

I think its most stupid thing to demonize anything. Nazis may be right in some things and wrong in others. If you support same views as nazis in some issues, it doesnt make you nazi. You can support nazi views in environmental issues and still not support their other ideological beliefs.

When an actor expresses a Democrat view, he's considered as a weirdo from Hollywood.

When an actor expresses a Republican view, he's considered as being a good candidate for the US presidency.
